We thought that Alec, our server was very good and very attentive. We both had the snapper dinner special, which was very good. The wedge salad had an interesting dressing with a nice kick. The calamari was a little disappointing. It seemed like it may have cooked just a tad too long. We did think the restaurant was a little expensive compared to other places we dined while in St. Augustine. All in all, a pretty good evening.
My birthday was exceptional because of this dining experience. That staff was so kind and caring, the food (I kid you not) THEE BEST Iâve ever had. Every single detail and bite was 10/10. It was my first time in St. Augustine and I will be sure to come back just for this dinner. The chefs should be praised for their attention to detail in each item. I had the grouper (catch of the day) and my husband had mussels and the duck with milletsâ¦YUM. Tomato bisque was phenomenal and added to my list of things I didnât know in needed. The Birthday dessert was nothing less than a treat but the true icing on the cake was the staff. Elegant decor and very comfortable seats. I didnât want to leave. So good, canât wait to go back!
Costa Brava is a wonderful fine dining restaurant in the Casa Monica Hotel and Resort. The cuisine is Spanish Mediterranean and features both tapas and full course dining options complemented by salads and desserts. They also feature a nice wine list and a full service bar, highlighted by superb after dinner drinks and cognacs to be enjoyed with the atmosphere and piano music. The service is friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable; the chefs are very creative and can meet any dietary needs or restrictions. Parking is on-site by valet. I love going to Costa Brava and highly recommend it.
The best thing was the PIANIST!! The food was just - so sorry to say this - NOT good⦠we had the cauliflower steak (really yucky, sorry, never saw anything like that, didnât look like cauliflower or a steak) (about $37) and the âcatch of the dayâ (way over cooked, orzo pasta was full of grease and overdone, etc.) (about $55) - two salads ($15 each), those were OK. We werenât looking for a discount, but as we were settling up, we just mention the problems to the waitress so she could tell the chef to kind of be a little more attentive. They did nonetheless offer us a 15% discount, which was a nice concession, it was a birthday meal for my husbandâs 70th and just disappointing. But what was amazing is that there is an incredible art gallery in this hotel connected to a lovely jewelry store, and we spent a lot of time in both, that made us forget about the restaurant! So the restaurant led us there. Wouldnât eat there again. Ambience was nice, piano player was great, hostess waitress both very good. Just need to remind the chefs that oil and salt and heat alone do not maketh the meal!
Excellent service, Karen our waitress was very attentive and anticipated our needs. We didn't have to ask for anything because she already had it ready!
Christina our server was wonderful. The place was super nice and the food was really good!
We made reservations for dinner for our 14th wedding anniversary. We arrived about 15 minutes early, but we did not have to wait to be seated. From the hostess to our waitress to the management, the service was exquisite. The food was fresh, local, and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and we will definitely be back!
Not at all Mediterranean cuisine. Very limited choices. Just not what I would expect from a Marriot.
Great service. Very quite in the morning for breakfast. The food was amazing and out quickly.
The food was unique and delicious. My husband loved the ceviche. The Spanish fried Marcona almonds were delicious! Best cheesecake Iâve ever had and their catch of the day was pan-fried grouper over risotto which was excellent. Great service and very friendly
