Hardly any staff, still did a wonderful job. Loved the margaritas, food was great and to my understanding, the front of house manager was the only person able to work in the kitchen the day I visited. Spectacular job, all things considered. It is very difficult, to say the least, being in a restaurant with almost no staff. Thanks for a great time!
If I could give less than 1 star I would. We had to wait for 30 minutes to be seated. Normal on a Friday night. When we were seated, there were at the very least 25 tables empty and waiting for diners. Our order was taken and then 20 minutes later the waitress flung our silverware in the table and walked away without speaking. We were just about ready to pay for our drinks and leave when the meal was finally served. Well over 25 minutes, and like I said, a nearly empty restaurant. 1 server checked on us during this time, and it wasn’t ours. She got the tip though.
What can I say, I'm prejudiced because I love Chili's. Almost everything I order has been good to excellent. Gotta love the all day happy hour too. We ordered the steak dinner with southwest sauce and grilled avocado and asparagus. Delicious! I'd go back again tonight if my wife would let me.
My 3 friends and I met for lunch. The bartender and one other person on duty were serving the whole area. Our bartender was a joy and made the best Blackberry Margarita I have ever tasted. We shared an appetizer plate and 3 of us had chicken quesadillas. They were cold and rubbery with no visible signs of chicken. The fish sandwich another friend had was tasty but also cold due to a shortage of help, I think. So...the best and the not so great in one sitting.
At the front door it says, service may be slow... but it was fast and our waitress was terrific!! Food great. Sweet tea was delicious! A++++
Sadly, the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed so we opted for chili's. The service was terrible, no COVID excuse printed on the door can make up for a server that didn't ask how we wanted our burgers cooked or what sized drinks. She did stop by a couple of times, but seemed distracted by other things in the restaurant. As soon as I got my beer choice out, she left without any comment. I can excuse slow service, but this was just bad. And, as we remembered after we took our first bite, there is a reason we don't go to Chili's. Mediocre burgers with little flavor that dry out before done eating and fries with little flavor. I'm just glad we ordered lesser priced items so we didn't waste too much money.
Good as always. Our server was phenomenal! Very personable and always was attentive without being overbearing! Hope to get him again! The Long Island Teas were great, and our food was fresh and hot!
SHORT VERSION: Normally this is one of my favorite places to eat in St Augustine. However not this time!LONG VERSION: I had just returned from my doctor’s office and I was looking forward to one of the many dishes that I like before my next appointment.There was no one in line. So I stood at the hostess podium for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to greet me and seat me! But, nobody ever came to the podium. What is really strange was there was hardly anyone in there!The waitresses walked by in the bar, but, unfortunately no one spoke to me or came for about 10 minutes of me standing there with my cane. (I am partially disabled due to no cartilage in my knees from heavy weight lifting doing squats as a teenage lifeguard many years ago.) I even walked over in the dining area but again no waitress said anything to me!Finally, I realized that they must have changed management because of the lack of interest in seating me. So, extremely disappointed, I turned around and left shaking my head at the terrible management and lack of basic service.Do I want to take a chance of the poor management being the same. No, I will wait awhile until they get new management at the very least and prioritizes seating their customers!I wasted so much time there that I had to go to a fast food drive through to make it to my appointment in time! UGH!
Server was not friendly and told us we had to place our orders in the exact sequence she demanded because of some new ordering system. She was not happy when we didn't! She could've made it funny, but she had no sense of humor. Her attitude sucked. Felt like we were bothering her. She even snapped her fingers and pointed to one of our empty cups to give to her. First time we've had a bad experience there. If the manager was visible, I would've mentioned it to him/her, but didn't see one.
My FriendSis and I had a blast today!! Even though they didn't appear to have many workers, the ones that were there made it work!! The guy that served us also appeared to be the bartender, I can't remember his name, but he was great!! Food and drinks were good!!
