Awesome gem in a service station from yesteryear. We opted for a quick bite after a busy day of rambling through St. Augustine. There were 3 of us and we all wanted something different so we opted to just get a slice of what we desired. We started with some very awesome garlic knots, and our slices showed up right after. Delicious! The only problem and it was ours not Borillos, was ordering a slice of the supreme. The veggies just weren’t cooked enough. Had we ordered a whole pie we know it would have been perfect. The service was phenomenal. Those ladies were humping it keeping everyone taken care of. Cant wait to visit again!
Placed an order at 5:30pm and was told my order would be done in 10-20 minutes. 45 mins after I placed the order I asked how much longer would take them they told me it would another 30min longer and our order was going start being prepared. I can sympathize with small business on finding help. But would recommend to be truthful when being asked how long the order would take. It seems similar to other reviews after I started looking. I heard a few other customers complaining about take out on how long the orders are taking. That being said the staff was nice and apologetic so I gave them 2 stars. Looks like owners need to be more truthful to customers.
Went here a couple of days ago cause it was 4.3 stars. Supposedly NY style pizza, miss that. (Been down here in FL for over a decade now). Well got there early, not that many customers, gave order, got our drinks and that was it. 30 minutes pass, asked where's our order. Waitress/cashier, who was really nice, says it's coming. More people start to come in. Take out orders are pretty fast. Keep in mind we just ordered one pie. 20 minutes and yet no pie. Ask again and the excuse from the waitress is that it fell from the back of the oven. Assistant manager tells her excuse that one cook put the pie in and left without telling the other cook about it so it burned. I'm like forget about it, just give me a refund. Communication of staff is bad. At this time a lady comes in who had a takeout order that had a salad. It was a rotten one. She got her refund. Guess we'll never know if it is NY style pizza. We eventually went to Castillo Craft Bar and Kitchen. Bad pizza... place blessing in disguise.
Asked if the meatball parmagiano was good. Staff grinned slighted and said "It's really good." Somehow that was an understatement! The calzone was so big my 22 year old son couldn't finish half of it in spite of how good it was. He and my wife polished it off that evening. Would go back in a heartbeat next time we're in St. Augustine.
We ordered the Home made lasagne & Chicken Parmesan... Well worth the price... It was tasty the flavor was spot on..My husband is Italian.. Our bill came out to $47.00 for both meals and 2 Adults Beverages.. The live entertainment was excellent..
Good service and excellent food! The portions are full sized and delicious. Inside or outside seating and daily entertainment of all kinds. Definitely would recommend stopping in and grabbing a bite to eat here!
I was walking along the strip and stopped for lunch. They had a lunch special 2 slices and a drink for about $8. Now when the lady brought my order out I was not really paying attention and I thought why would she not cut the pizza in 2 slices; this was one slice of pizza. So I had my drink and 1 slice because the 1 slice was too much for me. I took the other slice in a to go box. If you are not a fan of sauce this pizza will be great for you. It’s not too greasy either. I would recommend stopping here on your visit.
Surprisingly great site for music and outdoor eating. I say that because I did not know much about Borillo's. I was hungry so I ordered the Jumbo Vegetarian Calzone and it was at 14 inches! You probably could save half for the next day but I was hungry and ate it all up. The outdoor setting had a bar and was pretty well packed with people who seemed to know one another as well as the talented musicians Dewey and Unkl Ray who were awesome! We will be back!
I hope my experience is not typical of this place. I would not recommend them for dine in. There was one server working both the inside and outside tables. It took forever to get my order in. People that were coming in for takeout got served immediately and I just had to wait. The people are nice and just have too many orders to fill. Will not return here.
We dined here one evening when there was live entertainment from more than one group. The entertainment was good and the atmosphere was super in the garden next to the restaurant. The staff was busy, but friendly. Prices were reasonable considering St. Augustine and the food was excellent.
