I was recommended to try out restaurant, Myself & My husband decided to try it for dinner. We sat at a booth by the bar. Waitress asked us what we would like to drink. I asked her if they had any drink specials or recommendations, She said NO specials going on. I had a mix drink, My husband had a beer. We decided to try out Calamari for appetizer which was good. We placed are entrée orders, Cesar Salad was delicious. Both of are entrées were delicious & Great portions for the price. The reason why I am giving Black Molly Grill 2 ☆☆ Is due to the lack of service are waitress gave us, She never offered us more drinks OR water. Never came back to check and see how are food was, OR if we needed any salt or pepper etc. My husband asked for the manager. He came out from the back of the house, & My husband told him are issues. Plus let him know are food was delicious. But never ONCE did he apologize for the bad service we Recieved. If we would have had better service, I would have given your establishment 5 Stars.
We were seated right away on a Friday night and the service was really good. We sat on the patio which had a really nice atmosphere for being in the middle of a parking lot. The food was OK. We came as a party of five with us and our three children children. The steak was amazing. We did get three pasta dishes: the one with the chicken and ham, the angel cake, and a flamingo and they weren’t very flavorful. Which was disappointing because they looked gorgeous. However, definitely get the fried cheese appetizer. The sauce and the cheese were really tasty. I would definitely go back to try some other items on the menu based on the service and the atmosphere.
Three of us met for lunch at the Black Molly; for two of us, it was a first visit. Service was excellent, and two of our entrees were very good (veggie sandwich and shrimp and grits). However, my order of angel cake (crab cake on top of pasta) was a disappointment. The crab cake was overcooked; the pasta was dry, clumpy, and far from what was expected. The angel cake arrived in a cereal bowl that even made it difficult to eat. I might return to the Black Molly, but I definitely will not order the angel cake again, and we wish there was more than one vegetarian option. Overall we had a pleasant experience, but the angel cake did not live up to our expectations.
Black Molly has excellent food. Being a St Augustine Native this has been a go to since they opened a few years ago. The steak is amazing! Shrimp and grits tops and the crab cakes and grilled fish were excellent too! Lindy was our server and she was excellent! It gets a little noisy inside when they are busy but we’ll worth the wait every time. We enjoyed!
My husband and I visited here twice last week on our vacation and both times did not disappoint. The waiters were attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent. The trout was the best. Highly recommend anyone to try the trout. This place was superb, despite the fact that their oven was not working at the time and there was a bit of a wait for a table and food. The service was still great, and so was the food. Like I said, we visited there twice. It was by far our favorite restaurant in St. Augustine.
I came back again and it was awesome again! This time I got the salmon and had it with broccoli and straw veggies! My husband got the steak tacos and he said they were amazing ? the staff was busy because of the time of day but everyone here super accommodating and on top of things ? shot out to the chef kitchen staff still making the food perfect even though they were slammed!
My husband and I went for dinner on Saturday, April 16th, and it was great. Our server, Joshua, was very attentive and personable. The food and drinks were delicious. We left very pleased with our experience.
Have lived in St Aug for almost 6 years and had never been, but glad we finally went. It’s almost all locals, which says something. Our food and waitress (Kara) were excellent. We will be back.
We have been to this restaurant a number of times over our four month visit to St. Augustine. We saw a number of reviews stating the steak was really good. I tried the ribeye last night and it was absolutely fantastic....and for the price a great value. I certainly will order again. Every meal we have had there has been great and the staff very attentive.
Great pasta dishes. Desserts were delicious.
