We ordered the priciest bowl, Pacific Powerhouse, that was supposed to have the Super Greens Blend and include kale, spinach, spirulina, etc. The worker failed to mention they don't do the super greens blend anymore until after we got the bowl and didn't know it was supposed to have the other greens. So we overpaid for a standard dragon fruit bowl with absolutely no greens. No compensation was offered. As might as well take it off the menu.
We loved Big Island Bowls! Highly recommend the Lifeguard Açaí Bowl. Fruit was fresh and everything was feel good food :) We will be visiting again if we come back for vacation!
It’s a cute little place with bob marley music and a chill atmosphere
This place has gone downhill and it’s so upsetting, because I have been a frequent customer. My daughter and I waited 15 minutes to even get our order taken today. After waiting an additional 15 minutes (30 minutes in total for TWO AÇAÍ BOWLS!!) I asked how much longer. The girl lied to my face and said they just fell over. I was sitting there the entire time, they just forgot our order clearly. Nothing fell, all the other customers got their food besides us. To lie about it was just rude. Then while handing me my bowl, the girl grabbed the spoons with no gloves, on the actual part you put in your mouth!!! Disgusting! I asked her to give me new ones that she didn’t put her hands all over, and told her to never hand a customer a utensil in that way!!!. I’m sooooo disheartened because my kid and I came here all the time. But they need to seriously retrain their staff in customer service and food handling. :(
My first time was delish! I ordered the Bang Bang Poke Bowl with Tuna and it was so good and very filling!
$15 açaí bowls are pre made and not blended fresh to order unfortunately. Customers should be told that before ordering because there is a huge difference in taste and quality when this item is not blended fresh.
We have been eating poke bowls here for almost 2 years and unfortunately, the quality has been deteriorating for most of the past several months. Today was the worst as the tuna was chewy and not the prime cuts as they once were. Less veggies and fruit and a whole lot of rice. Not sure what is going on but we are very close to the point of not returning. I would have and should have given a 5 star review early on but would have lowered it by now. Please get back to where you were guys, we want to support you. Raise your prices if need be. You will never save your way to prosperity!
This used to be one of our favorite local places but recently the quality and inconsistency of the bowls is upsetting. It’s hit or miss whether the bowls are made well. Sometimes the bowls aren’t made the way ordered and the quality of the açaí is hit or miss. For the price you pay, you’d expect better quality. Please go back to focusing on quality over quantity.
This is the worst poke bowl I ever had. I took a few bites and threw the rest away. I was told the fish was fresh but it definitely was previously frozen. The rice was hard and drenched in teriyaki sauce. It is disgrace to call this a poke bowl especially when naming your business after one of the Hawaiian islands.
I love stopping here to get an açaí bowl! The atmosphere is wonderful and very kid friendly- there's lots of games and kids toys to play with.
