We like to visit non chain restaurants when we are out of town and this one did not disappoint. The food was good (especially the Mac and Cheese). Probably the best I ever had. (Would love to have the recipe) hint, hint....The view was beautiful. Wait staff was excellent.
Both types of clam chowders were good as were the Cali Sri and clam strips. All the bread was a variation of corn bread with sweetened butter. The service was poor. We should not have had to ask fro side plates or extra napkins
the shrimp and grits are awesome. the gator bites, fried green tomatoes are good starters.
We were on a family mini-vacation and this restaurant had great reviews, so we decided to try it even though it was almost a 30-minute drive from where we were staying. It was the best decision made. We got there early before the dinner rush because of our previous night’s experience trying to eat out in the historic district of St. Augustine. This place had plenty of parking and we were seated right away outside with a great water view. We started out with peel-n-eat shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce. They were large shrimp and delicious. Hubby ordered the Mahi Catch with collard greens and coleslaw. He is a picky eater and he raved about his entire dinner. Our daughter ordered the North Beach Chicken but with no cheese and she did have to send it back because they thought she meant no provolone cheese only, It was delicious as well and she was going to take the 2nd chicken home for lunch at work. She accidentally left it there :(. I ordered the St. Augustine Style Shrimp with rice and collard greens. I ate the entire meal. Not one complaint. We also all three had desert “since we were on vacation”. It was the best meal out in a very long time. We will be back. Our waitress Samantha was wonderful as well. We asked if we could stay until the sunset if they didn’t need the table but said another storm was coming in, so we decided against waiting, but we could have stayed. I would recommend this place 110%. We will be back on our next trip.
Good, solid food. My friend and I were staying on Vilano Beach and didn’t want to go far for dinner, so we tried Aunt Kate’s. We aren’t seafood fans, so we both had the snowbird salad with grilled chicken, which was good, but not extraordinary. The dressing was unique and the key lime pie was homemade and creamy. Loved the bread basket. Beautiful setting on the river and nice staff.
Loved homemade banana and cornbread they served when we sat down. The shrimp and grits with bacon, mushrooms and cheese was outstanding. The crab corn bisque hot and loaded with she crab. The best I have had. Can go by boat or car ? better. Will definitely come back. Oh and the Caesar side salad very authentic.
We had lunch today and everything was very good. Heard no complaints and belly’s were full. The service and setting is awesome. They started us with a bread basket that was unique and we got to experience some untraditional bread fare. The entree’s were very good just nothing wowed me, thus the 4 stars. We’ll definitely be back to try some new items.
We chose this place based on TripAdvisor reviews, and you guys didn't let us down. First of all, the ambiance is great. Plenty of outdoor, waterfront seating, on a deck that wraps around a huge oak tree draped in Spanish moss. There's ample shade and fans running as well, so it's beautiful and comfortable. The service was friendly and our waiter was cordial. The food was excellent. The menu had a large variety of choices and when you are seated, you get a basket of variety southern breads and butter, which was very neat. Our meals themselves were great, with large portions and seasoned well. The grits were actually my favorite. Glad we stopped by, and would certainly return in the future.
The food was incredible. People also setting wonderful can’t wait to go back.
Ww started with coconut shrimp which were amazing! Then we had Fried shrimp and they were delicious, lightly breaded, fresh, melt in your mouth! The fries are potato wedges . They were cooked perfect.
