This place being a staple and being around longer than I’ve been alive made me want to try it. I really love Cantonese style cooking as that’s what I grew up on so I was very excited to see this is the style they cook hereI ordered the chow mein with chicken, fried rice, and egg roll combination platterWhen I opened the food container (I ordered to go) I noticed it came with no noodles so I swore I must’ve gotten the wrong dish. I call the restaurant and they explain to me their chow mein has no noodles and it’s not their fault I didn’t know that. There’s no menu explanation on their site that says they steer away from adding noodles to a NOODLE dish so how would I magically know.I tell them that they should make that known and that it’s really weird and they told me I don’t understand because I’m American… first of all I speak perfect English and I am not American, I grew up eating Cantonese food and they decided to be racist. I was shocked and told them I’ll never support them again.The only reason I’m giving them 3 stars is because the fried rice and egg roll actually tasted great, but the way the spoke to me as well as their odd take on Chow Mein (which was bland and undercooked) knocked it down 2 stars. Granted it should be less but I am being fair.
From the friendly & accommodating staff, to the nice ambiance...then the cuisine is bright, fresh and authentic. Will be setting our navigation often. Cant wait to try some other great dishes, new and some old.
Great food. Great service. 12.95 early bird special can’t be beat. It even comes with wine. I how ever opt out on the wine . They also serve free hot tea. I had the # E which was the pork lomain and it was delicious. They have the best egg rolls very crispy and not greasy at all. My hubs had the general tos chicken and by the looks of his empty plate I’d say he kind of liked it. Great family owned business. Wish we were in town longer to enjoy it again.
Entire order was gross. Sweet n sour pork was wet. Buns not cooked. No egg roll i paid for. Empty crab Rangoon. Also no sauce for the sweet n sour pork. I remember how good the food was here what a lot down.
I wouldn't say I'm really picky about Chinese food and I like most restaurants in this genre, but I did not like any of the three platters we ordered. The chicken chow mein was tasteless, and the Mongolian beef tasted like soy sauce. Will not come back.
Restaurant has been around since the mid 80's and decor is dated but fits the atmosphere with a cocktail bar to boot and was fairly busy at 2pm! Friendly service. So far I had their takeout and it was really good. Reasonable prices. They have early bird special. Next time will eat in.
My happy place is the Zom Hee bar with a piña colada. Every time I visit family in Florida I make my way here, even though family has now moved over an hour away from the restaurant. Recommend it very highly.
