Just took a chance. We were downtown looking for a new eating experience and saw this place. Excellent! We sat at the bar and had dinner and a show! We watched the rolls being made. Staff was kind, food was excellent and we left as happy new customers. We will return ?

By far the best sushi experience i’v had in Sarasota. The itamae prepares amazing sushi, his creativity and experience is worthy of 5 stars. Pictured is a Dragon roll and special creation (the salmon skin temaki).
As an avid sushi fan I can easily and honestly say that Brian easily makes the best sushi I’ve ever had, and tops it off with a extremely personable experience. Both himself and his staff are all amazing people and remember you whether it’s your second visit or your 30th. His restaurant will always hold a special place in my heart and I will always do my best to remain a regular here.
Our 2nd time return to this cozy restaurant .There was great, yummy food, fresh Sashimi and delicious sushi rolls. The staff is so friendly. We’ve tried many places and think this is the best .Come check it out. Truly a gem ?

Sushi is a staple for us. We visited several when we moved to Sarasota and found this gem ? The sushi melts in your mouth, with a variety of specials each week. They serve uni and my favorite Ikura with quail egg. Yum! The best part is the staff. The hospitality is the best around. Don’t miss out! The picture of Hamachi Kama is fun and delicious.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PEOPLE! Having lived in Tokyo for 7 years we know and love excellent and beautifully prepared Japanese food. Utamaro provides that and more. Our large platter of Sushi and Sashimi was so fresh, beautiful and delicious, TOTEMO OISHI, that we felt as if we were back in our old, neighborhood sushi restaurant in Tokyo. We visited with friends- EVERYTHING was delicious!! Beautiful presentation, wonderful staff. From our point of view, this restaurant was AWESOME. Sushi/kitchen was PERFECT. We are going back!!
We tried a different Sushi place today. Our server Jade was excellent.She pays attention to details. The Lobster roll was good. (4.8 out of 5 as my wife dont like spicy and we forgot) Sushi deluxe was fresh but lil thinner (Small portion) Ginger salad was good.. Steam Gyoza which is healthier than fried one. My wife would like to try their Ramen next time. We like the service and food is fresh. Will visit again!
