Great location!! Eat right on the water. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Food was excellent and not too expensive.
Situated over the water , on balmy sunny evening all was well with the world. Manatees were able to be seen too, so everything was well with the world. The food was good , and the service was just okay to be acceptable . Despite all that we felt force fed and rushed as one force arrived just as we were finishing the starter . No interim break
First of all, if you like coconut shrimp then get it! It is the best I’ve ever had! The jalapeño raspberry dipping sauce is flat out awesome! Crab dip is a cream cheese based dip that was subtle and not fishy….would totally get again. The service was wonderful as our waitress checked on us frequently. She was attentive and very welcoming. The Sarasota location is the way to go since it is on the water!
Wonderful atmosphere- definitely beach vibes. Sat at the bar as it was crowded at lunch. Server at the bar was extremely friendly and good, quick service. Had coconut shrimp, while good, nothing special. Fish tacos were really, really good…..good beer selection, as well. You cannot beat the view……would definitely go back.
We went to the Salty Dog on a rainy day while we waited for our time slot at the aquarium. The wait was pretty quick. Less than 5 mins for indoor tables. We waited about 10 mins for our waitress. Molly was a great waitress. I ordered a maragrita. I have to say it was the worst margarita I've ever had. It tasted like tequila and water. I couldn't finish it. The food came out pretty fast. The food was ok in my opinion not special.
Ugh, if I could leave zero stars I would. Wait staff were great, came back many times. Sat is in a good time.View was cool.Parking lot the best, not a lot of spots but this is Florida.Food was like eating at an extremely expensive and over priced Long John Silver's ( I have not eaten there i 30 years). Got sick from conch fritters few hours later. Sorry for poor review, had so many positive and encouraging reviews from friends.I hope others have a better experience.
We waited for about 5 minutes for a table. Fun restaurant, food came out really fast. Drinks (margarita) was just okay. I tried the salty dog and it was worth the try!
One of the best views around, and fantastic food and service. Been here a few times, they don’t always have Grouper fingers, but if they do, please order them! Fresh and delicious! We also got the peel n eat shrimp, very good also, not over cooked and chewy like some places. Very busy place, so there may be a wait, but you won’t regret it, great fresh food and drinks:)
Had to try the famous “salty dog” - a batter-dipped and fried hot dog! The view is incredible, and food was served really fast. Be prepared to wait for a table (they have a great texting system where you can also check your place in line!). I had never heard of a batter-dipped hot dog before, and I throughly enjoyed it. Great place to go with guests when you want a casual meal with a water view and are not in a hurry.
If you're looking for a place to eat with a fun tropical vibe on the water, with a fantastic view of the sunset, this is the spot! Parking is a tad tricky as the small lot does fill up quickly on the weekends. This is your typical Florida cuisine with a dock to drive up by boat as well. The Mahi tacos are pretty solid. The bar is a little awkward when you first walk in and there is not much of a water view from there as the tables take that space up. It would have been nicer if the bar area was flipped with the retail space in the back. Overall, the atmosphere was fun and the service was great!
