Great meal, atmosphere, and service. Austin was outstanding and the lamb was sublime.

Always a great experience at Selva, we had an amazing meal - everyone loved it!
Service is everything and this was awful! No one came to greet for 12 minutes and we had to ask hostess to find our server. No apology and no personality. Took another 10 minutes for him to return with drinksâ¦.the place was not busy!! After ordering I hear another server explain the nights specials which we never knew about. When I asked him he explained they had Mahi but our order was ready. This has been one of my favorite restaurants but I wonât drive from Venice to go there again!!
We've enjoyed their shrimp picante many times over the past 20 years...the last being about 8 years ago when they decided to use shrimp that resembled the imported frozen product seen in most retail establishments that just don't cook up firm like the fresh gulf shrimp due to the addition of a sodium additive that helps retain water. We decided to try again to see if they got enough complaints about it to change back to the fresh gulf shrimp...nope.
Must have been an off night ad we have been here numerous times and it was always great. This time service was slow and we had to send 2 of our entrees back as the lamb was over Cooked and the other one was cold. Guess it was one of those days
Belated birthday dinner with my 95 year old mother. Service - totally on point. Food was outstanding (rack of lamb and surf and turf). The staff at Selva are beyond wonderful!
Anniversary dinner..First time and will be the last time. Food was ok. Not impressed with the service at all. Our waitress was not personable at all. Definitely not five star service. It was a Wednesday only five table seated. She did not ask if this was our first time at the restaurant, give suggestions, ask if we had any questions about the menu or go over specials which I heard her enthusiastically recite them to another table. I asked for the dessert menu and she just plopped it on my table and kept walking ..no eye contact, no suggestions or explanations. Huge turn off. Did not order dessert and would not return.
Beautiful decor and low noise level with reasonable patron dress code that helps. Fabulous food with unique flavors and very detailed cocktail and wine list. Not sure of a better experience in Sarasota. Our server, Juan, helped make this a great experience.
Service from hostess, server, manager, and bar staff was impeccable. Food is always on point excellent for a date night
