I rate the food excellent most of the time. Any time after 3:00pm it's hard for me to patronize their store in Sarasota. Sometimes the meat is under cooked and bleeding. I'm from Miami and I've been eating Pollo at least 25 years and sometimes it's not worth the effort to drive 5 miles out of my way to pick up dinner. I recently had surgery and the chicken was all I could eat and i visited the store at least 5 times a week. Staff was sometimes rude especially when I had a problem with the food. Maybe they need to look at who's working evening at the registers both drive thru and inside.
Check your chicken before you take off. I’ve ordered the family meal 3 times and 2/3 times the chicken has been half cooked still bloody. I complained the 1st time but whoever I spoke to didn’t even write my name down. When I arrived to get a replacement they seemed to have a whole list of people but they didn’t have my name. (But they did honor their word) The second time I didn’t complain because now I know that they don’t cook their chicken and is not worth my time. This is within a 2 month span. The flavor is okay but the service (when asked for a specific sauce the workers complained that I didn’t tell them in advance as if they asked me when I ordered my food) plus the raw food is just disgraceful.
First time dining at Pollo Tropical. It did not disappoint. I had more rice than beans but that's an easy fix. The boneless chicken breast was perfect.
If I could rate zero stars, I would. First off, the drive thru cashier (skinny white girl with multiple pins on hat) is extremely rude and it’s obvious she doesn’t want to be there. I had a big order which amounted to about $60. I asked her for cilantro sauce and she tells me there is none, mind you this is not the first time this happens with the same girl. I ordered a bowl with cilantro sauce and it had the sauce on it so now I’m confused. I walk in and I can see the bottle of sauce right in front. I asked for the sauce that they apparently didn’t have, and they gave me 2 MEASLY cups of sauce. I had to get the manager to give me more and still then, he barely gave me any. I get that everyone wants thats sauce, but I have a big order for my whole family, if I want sauce and I’m paying for my meals, I don’t understand why I constantly have to fight for sauce! Ridiculous! Not only that but I ordered Yuca fries and they were BONE cold and hard as rocks and the Cuban sandwhiches we’re not made correctly. Had the have been sitting there for God knows how long. Not the first time this happens. Drove 20 mins for horrible service. Never again.
Great food! They rang is up for an extra meal. After refunding the extra charge, they still have us the plate because they had already made it. Excellent customer service. Will visit again.
There were dead bugs on the windowsills next to us, as we were seated in a booth. The floors were very clean but slippery.A hair was in one of my family member's food. They had to throw that 2nd piece of chicken away. Gross! We were not brave enough to complain in person.The food itself was very good. I did order ice tea, but it was mango flavored...not expecting a flavored tea.
The worst Pollo Tropical…a disgrace to the franchise. The food is raw, the chicken has no seasoning and is not nicely grilled. Often the food is cold. Picked up two meals yesterday. Blood oozed out of the chicken breast and the wing portion was as pale white, looking similarly to boiled chicken. I simply discarded it. I have been here several times and cannot justify that this is a one off experience. I will never return.
Absolutely the worst in service ever. Never staffed right. And the drive through line even in a slow night has at least 5 cars and the screen of orders completely red. Go somewhere else for your food . It's not worth the aggravation. That's why they went broke in Texas and Colorado.
Never in my life have I been treated so rudely! I wait 15 mins for an online order. It's still not ready. Nicely ask the man calling out orders if he had an idea on how long it would be and he says no. I ask if he can give me an eta. He says no it will be ready when it's ready. He then proceeds to dismiss me! I will spend my money somewhere else where I'm appreciated as a customer
Great selection and quality food on the menu. Portions are very generous.Super clean dining room and restrooms. Sanitized routinely.
