The food here is amazing and is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The summer rolls with sugarcane are divine, the ginger fish is a favorite as well as the sizzling fish. The chicken curry is awesome and of course you can't go wrong with a bowl of pho! This is my go to place whenever I go down to the area for visit - have been coming here for many years!
We have been to this place several times within the past few years; overtime seems that the service, quality and quantity of food declined. Not to mention, the owner is absolutely rude, it was tolerable then but seems to be getting worse as the years past! ( So I'm not sure if I am the only person that's experienced this from these people but if you're Asian or remotely look asian.... forget about it! They make you feel disrespected and unwelcomed. Only was there for the food, but I guess it isn't good enough to continue to travel an hour for anymore. )
This food is really good. Grilled meatball spring rolls are a great starter. 31c coconut lemongrass chicken is a favorite. The Pho is really excellent as well. Winston the owner can be a bit abrupt but they is actually a very nice person. When he is stressed he can be really short but with so fewer staff it’s understandable. Our family has been going here for years and will continue to do so. It is not fancy but everyone we take there goes back.
Absolutely excellent fresh and tasty food. It was so good we ate here at lunch and came back for dinner as we are leaving Sarasota tomorrow and wanted one last meal!! Great value too. Family owned operation so they really care. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.
This dining experience was a total disaster, steer clear from this place. The server apparently did not understand my order and what she brought was not what I wanted. While my friends ate their soup, I waited for a replacement, egg rolls, which came greasy tasting of rancid oil and burnt on the outside. They were inedible. At that point another waiter came over and became argumentative with me, insisting that the server was new that's why she got it wrong. I asked for owner, and he came over to the table and picked a fight while I tried to keep my composure. When I requested an adjustment to the bill, he threw a fit and made quite a scene which was so incredibly rude and awkward for myself and my guests. Just to put an end to this series of unfortunate events, I went ahead and paid the whole bill, and then owner came over and threw a second bill down on the table for the egg rolls AGAIN. When we said we had already paid for them on the first bill, he really got furious and stomped off in a huff. Wish I had read the other bad reviews first, but we just walked in off the street...
Best Pho in Sarasota!! Hands down!! So fresh with flavor, family owned, very kind people. Enjoy!
Whenever we travel, we love to try new Vietnamese restaurants. This was by far the best! We loved the pan fried dumplings, vegetarian egg rolls, rare beef PHO and coconut lemongrass chicken. Everything was authentic and delicious!
My family and I have been eating at Pho Cali for years and have recommended it to all our friends. The food is consistently excellent and the service is always polite and attentive! We eat here at least once every other week and have never had a bad meal or unpleasant experience.
Not only was the Pho sub-par, but it gave my wife severe food poisoning! Don't eat here unless you wish to feel like you are sick with the plague. Honestly this place should be shut down. If this is what the people around here think good food is then they have been sucking too much sea water. This place does not even deserve the one star that is required to give the rating.
First bad service : not friendly, not tissue, not sauce …Second noodle of Pho is too soft, and soup like lemon Lol, my kid cant eat it, smell like … i dont want to think about it.And finally they are not Vietnamese, you know what i meanMaybe no star :((
