Bartender is a total drip. not friendly or engaging with anyone it seems.. must not want much of a tip.
Great food in a classic Florida seafood joint. Great service, and fresh fish. What’s not to love?
Great seafood place. And their deserts are to die for.
Stopped on our way back from Mangrove kayak excursion. Definitely a must stop for visitors. Happened to arrive during happy hour - $5 margaritas - a bonus. Service was excellent. Seafood was very fresh & tasty!! We ordered 2 fish basket, sea scallops and shrimp pasta.
This was an early Mother's Day outing (we don't like to go out on The Day, too crowded) so we took my Mother In Law here so she could get her fried smelts (it's the only place we can find that serves this). My hubby and I shared the seafood stuffed oysters. Then we all shared this fried seafood boat which had grouper, a couple of shrimp, calamari, clam strips, lobster tails on a bed of french fries. Make sure you ask for the pricing of the specials you are interested in. Service was good and friendly.
Absolutely wonderful lunch and setting. Stopped for lunch with husband and friend and enjoyed a sangria and fish tacos..both were so good! Husband had the fried shrimp and it also was really good. The atmosphere is laid back and really enjoyable. Everyone around us indicated they too were enjoying their food and drinks! Will make this a must stop when travelling this area!
I’ve been going to Philippi Creek for over ten years, usually bringing out of state visitors to sample a classic Florida ambience. Yet, during past year despite much higher prices the quality of the food has declined. Less flavorful. Service? Average.
We have been there before and have been pleased. As of last night we would not go back. I ordered a salad. It was badly lacking and it was $10 for a green salad. A lot of lettuce, 2 thin slices of cuke, a smattering of red cabbage, small amount of onion, peas and two very tiny grape tomatoes cut in half. Basically a lot of lettuce for $10. My wife ordered a glass of wine, seafood gumbo and a fried assorted seafood platter consisting of a crab cake, shrimp, scallops, fish and clams. The gumbo and main course were served together. The wine was served about 10 minutes after her dinner was served. To add insult to injury the clams were tiny little badly over fried scraps of clams. Very poor indeed. We would not go back there on a bet. There are two many very good seafood restaurants in the area to take a chance on Phillippi. Left Coast Seafood, Casey Key and Walts are continually excellent.
Four small oysters on a burger bun w/fries $16 OK. $27 fish tacos OK $31 five shrimp 4 Oysters fries decent food but , double the price for food value. Won’t be back
