Metered public parking starts at 5pm. Found instructions confusing and no receipt is given. Owens has rustic decor. Food was very good but I expected terrific.

Great food as always but the old manager Tiffany who is no longer there definitely added a little something. Just not quite the same.
I had read the reviews about the wait. When we arrived we were told a 2 hour wait. It was 1.5 hours. But waiting in the “backyard” is part of the experience. We grabbed a table next to the tire swing, listened to music, drank tasty concoctions in the mean time. The only thing we thought of later is that it would have been fun to have cards. You can also get appetizers like grilled shrimp and seafood dip but we wanted to save for our meal. Our meal was great. We enjoyed fried chicken, snapper, haddock and my daughter who has celiac had shrimp and grits. There was an entire gluten free menu!! Lovely meal. Great time.
Got there early to avoid the infamous waiting line, and glad we did. Excellent blackened grouper in a pleasant garden setting out back (although the portion was on the small side). Best margarita of our week in Sarasota.
A Sarasota must. I’m so glad we came here on our first night of vacation — this place was bumpin and did not disappoint! Don’t be discouraged by the long wait: there is such a cute outdoor patio with fresh grilled seafood and a bar menu to order from to tide you over while you enjoy the weather and listen to live music!The food (on all 3 of the menus they offer) was outstanding and fresh. The servers were all super helpful with ordering and friendly too! Enjoyed my time here start to finish and would recommend to anyone.
We went with another couple- they had been before , it was our first time. The wait was 2.5 hours so we decided to sit outside ( it’s a limited menu outside and you need to order inside) no big deal. It’s a cool vibe, blue grass music, grilled appetizers All the appetizers were very good. Oysters, jalapeño poppers, peel and eat shrimp. Beers were cold. The mains though. Fried Fish - was doughy and awful, I mean really bad. Jambalaya , was kind of blah. I understand it’s a different menu inside but based on our experience- I would not wait to try it. I would ho back for appetizers and drinks though.
Loved the atmosphere here. My wife and I had to wait an hour for a table and we're so glad we did. It gave us time to checkout the backyard. It was very unique. You could get some food and drinks while listening to live music. When we got seated inside, our waitress was amazing! I believe her name was Hope. She treated us like we were the most important people in the restaurant. She sat down at our table several times during the night and we had great conversation. Some people may not like this, but we loved the fact that she was not wearing a mask. It felt normal and that's what we wanted. One of my best restaurant experiences ever. I almost forgot to mention that the food was outstanding too!
Meal was great, the atmosphere is amazing and this place came highly recommended by good friends. We had a wait for the table but enjoyed drinks in the back, great seating and fun. Our meal was great, we lingered a bit and enjoyed dessert. The next day when our credit card cleared we discovered that the server had altered our tip and increased our bill. Calls to the manager and an exchange of pictures of the receipt cleared it up but clearly disappointed that this would occur at a highly recommended establishment
My sister had found this place while ‘researching’ the area. Staff at the Westin Hotel spoke highly of it so off we went. Over an hour wait but the courtyard was a great place to have a drink and wait to be called. Food was very good. Staff was excellent.
The best place to eat in Sarasota for fresh great tasting fish! Always comes out nice and hot and oh so good! You may be in for a long wait as they only open at 4pm and only take in person reservations. But it’s worth the wait and they have a great outdoor seating in the back to enjoy music and drinks and apps while you wait an hour or so for a table. Always great fish here!!
