Had a 2 scoop waffle cone tonight. First flavor was cookie dough. Had absolutely no cookie dough in it. Not one little piece. It was just vanilla ice cream. The second flavor was toasted coconut. It had a hint of coconut flavor but no coconut in it. Both scoops were basically vanilla ice cream. The scoops were very small too. The girl scooping had a hard time scooping the cookie dough because it was so hard. Very disappointing. Find yourself a different ice cream joint or try gelato up the road.
Ice cream shoppes are always a must try on any of our adventures. A bit disappointed in our stop here. Wasn't bad, but also not the best we've ever eaten. Cookies n cream very bland, similar to a cheap store bought vanilla with some cookies thrown in. All that said, the staff was very nice.
THE BEST ICE CREAM IN TOWN!!Our family loves visiting the Orange Octopus when we're back in Siesta Kay. They have all the flavors you'd expect plus several signature flavors that are handmade, by them, with fresh ingredients. The owners are super nice and indulged all our questions about ingredients and ice cream making... but some recipes will always remain a secret (coffee crunch).The only problem I found is not having an orange octopus back in my home town! Seriously, go grab a few scoops and maybe a waffle cone or two, you'll be glad you did. [sorry no pic, we ate it all]
Great flavors. The honey bourbon is unique and worth the trip. Tough call between this and Jake’s for the best ice cream in siesta key. Had to wait in line for 20 min which was the only downside to this place.
We always visit Orange Octopus when we go to the beach, and it’s always great. I recommend the Sea Salt Caramel as the best flavor, and Chocolate Brownie (don’t know if I got the name right on that) is a close second. But really I’ve never found a bad flavor here.
There were three of us and we agreed that this was the best ice cream since we were in Hawaii 12 years ago. This ice cream is made for the store, and it was amazing! Get the waffle cone. They make them right there at the store.
Very good ice cream, lots of flavors to choose from. They make their own waffle cones that are delicious.
What happened to Orange Octopus?? My family and I had it for the first time since the pandemic but the flavors changed dramatically. It’s overly sweet and not creamy the way it used to be. We have been vacationing at Siesta Key for about 10 years and Orange Octopus used to be a daily treat. Not sure if the pandemic had anything to do with it, but saddened that it’s not the way it was for so many years. Giving 2 stars for the very friendly staff, but the ice cream is unremarkable.
This is really good quality ice cream, you wont be disappointed We love it and grandkids also had fun here.
Heard a lot from others before going to this place. I took the grand kids tonight around 800 pm. Line out the door on arrival. Inside 24 flavors to choose from. Line moved quickly. Chocolate peanut butter for me. Two generous scoops. Reasonable price. Good value. Will return in the future.
