Very rude staff. Was not welcomed with a warm greeting instead when I stated the number of people in my party, the response was “thanks for calling” in a very sarcastic tone. I didn’t know you were supposed to call when you had a big party of people. Needless to say, rude staff and business do not need your money. Please go somewhere else if you are looking for a seafood place! Especially if you are here on vacation!

The waitress was rude, arrogant a d predijudice!!! They insulted our party of 15 upon entry. We left; no apologies, regret. I wouldn't spend a dollar in that place. This is why it was EMPTY!! NO CLASS.

The first night was great. Friendly staff, cold beer and great atmosphere. Second night, not so good but the beer was cold and we could watch the games. The cheese platter left a lot to be desired. Literally a block of cheese and a section of pepperoni that was ice cold.

Met some friends here. All were out on the patio, so I really didn't make it inside. Service and beverages were great. Food was also great. Pricing is decent. I'll go again for sure!

Loved this place. The staff was so friendly. The food was terrific, quick and very reasonable. They have a great, huge patio although the inside is kinda average. We'll be back.

Covid restriction: Mask is not mandatory. With outdoor seating. I love how fresh their oysters and snow crab legs are. Our waitress is also very attentive. Their oysters are huge compared to other seafood places. The price is reasonable, especially the snow crab legs. I highly recommend it.

Monks is a steamer bar in its purest form. In other words, don't expect anything else....except a hot dog. No salads, no sides, nothing fried.Otherwise, if you are looking for good steamed seafood with a cold beverage, you will be pleased. Try the 2 pounds of large shrimp boiled in a nice seasoning....very good!

Oh my gosh if you are a fan of shellfish. This is the place to go. The oysters are phenomenal. The muscles are great. They have a cheesy bread, that adds to the meal. This place is a hidden gem!

This is not an unbiased review. We have been coming to Monk's since their opening in 2001.This is our happy place. My husband is a steam clam aficionado. Monk's has the best! Anywhere.I am addicted to their mussels. Plump little pillows in garlic broth... Yum.We both knock back our fair share of crawdads on occasion too! This visit was our first in almost exactly a year. The addition of a cheesey garlic bread menu item, which I used for dipping in the delicious mussel broth was a great idea.In the early days it was "bring your own bread" and we would pick up a French bread from the (at that time) local French bakery and share with others. Now I don't have to share! :)I should note that their signature item is an Oysters Monkafeller. Their exquisite version of the classic dish.Sadly in the decades we have been going, we have not tried them yet. But everyone we have seen order them have been delighted. Many ordering seconds and thirds! If you like steamed seafood give this place a try.

The shrimp and oysters were very good. Our order didn't come out until we had 3 rounds of drinks and then it did not come complete. For a Steamer Bar i would expect a little quicker service. No side dishes so no excuse why it took over an hour to steam 7 dozen peel n eat shrimp, 1 dozen oysters and crawfish. We ordered Monk's bread and it did not come out until we were all finished eating. The crawfish were mushy. Overall, i was very disappointed. Then on top of it, the music was so loud and we could not hear to talk. Overall, disappointing experience. I won't be back. Definately not worth 160.00.
