Monday night dinner at Madison’s 41 was a welcomed surprise. We were welcomed at the front door and met with friendly, helpful, and prompt service in a crisp, modern, and comfortable atmosphere. The staff was attentive, our dinners were cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully. The generous servings of dessert and drinks were delicious . To top off the evening, we had the pleasure of Joe Thayer’s exceptional talent at the piano; smoothly and beautifully singing a variety of songs, including some of his originals. What a wonderful way to spend any evening, but a true find for a memorable Monday night!
Wife and I went here for lunch today. We have lived in the area for years and never been there. It was ok but not great. The tenderloin and fries were good but not memorable. Wife's chicken burger was good. I guess we expected better since it's a beautiful place. The lunch menu is pretty limited too. Not sure if we will go back. A little pricey too. Just being honest. Not bad but room for improvement.
My father, stepmother and I visited for dinner. The entire experience was quite impressive from beginning to end and down to the smallest detail. The staff was polite, professional, and considerate. Our server was Linda. She is by far one of the best servers I have had the pleasure of interacting with. The food was outstanding. The Prime Rib was as good or better than the big name high dollar steakhouse chains we all know. The sides were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. In fact, the overall experience was so good that I asked to speak to the manager to share my high satisfaction. I never do that and had never done that. The Manager's name was Mae. She was appreciative of the accolades for the staff and quality. Accordingly, I am sharing this with the public so you may take the opportunity to enjoy your visit as well.
14 for lunch today, One meal was not served until the others were mostly done eating. Said no thanks to offer of free appetizer/dessert. (Not interested in eating alone). Manager Robert flatly refused to comp meal even after several in the party suggested it would be appreciated. Made for an uncomfortable situation where guests left unhappy. You've lost several future customers and the revenue from locals who live close to the restaurant. Also our word of mouth recommendations go far in this community where there are many fine dining choices.. Very short sited policy Robert!
Third time dining here this season and once again a disappointment. We sat outside. Went to ask the busboy a question and was cut off with “I’m busy”. 40 minutes to get a drink. Which was watered down and when I mentioned it to the waiter I was told “I’ll let the manager know.” Manager never showed up and the waiter never offered me another drink. One hour later we got a bread basket and over one and a half hours later dinner. Doubt we will go back this season and would definitely not recommend. Probably sitting at the bar would be a better experience.
Had a large group of friends and family together for dinner at Mattisons 41 and it was FANTASTIC!! From the moment we were sat until the bills were paid (there were 15 of us so several separate checks) everything was wonderful. Our server Joel was very good at handling a large party and his recommendations were perfect due to his knowledge of the menu. Both the general manager and the assistant manager stopped by our table to be sure everything was OK. I 10/10 recommend and will definitely be back!!!
We had 4 couples for dinner on a Friday night. The service was excellent and also the food! Sean, our waiter was excellent! They have renovated the restaurant with great ambience! New outdoor seating!!
My friend and I organize monthly luncheons for the ladies who live in Esplanade. LWR, FL. We usually get 40-50 attendees and had 48 Friday, Feb. 11th, 2022, at Mattison's 41, Sarasota, FL. We worked with Jacque Armstrong, and were so thrilled with the event from start to finish. The servers, Jay and Ted were a "well oiled" machine!! The manager, Robert, checked on us also. The food, service, space were all top notch, and we've told Jacque we'll book it again next year! I'd highly recommend Mattison's 41 for any and all dining.
Service was fantastic and the atmosphere great. The calamari was among the best I have had, and the French onion soup is a must try. My wife had the grouper piccata. It was fresh and bright. The mashed potatoes were light and full of flavor. I had the ribeye which was cooked perfectly, though a bit chewy. Sometimes that happens. We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend visiting.
Menu was very limited and other items were available only in the bar - can anyone tell me why? Service was indifferent. Overall it seemed they didn't really care about the customer. I've eaten at their downtown location many times and it is completely different.
