Visited this place at 4pm on a Friday and was greeted by an odd stench while I was sat at one of their outdoor tables. We had a nice waitress; she offered us free dessert after one of us told her how horrid the food was.Apparently some of these guys' food isn't too shabby, but my party might've just happened to purchase the three worst items on their menu. The pizza: unbelievably doughy, and the sauce tasted like ketchup. The sushi: not so sure if it was even fish. tasted super watery. And the fried chicken. Oh, the fried chicken! Fried chicken that could believably pass as scrap cardboard. Fried chicken that you couldn't even bite into without triggering your gag reflex. Fried chicken with black and gray spots all over. Fried chicken that seems like microwaved leftovers from a 2001 McDonald's dumpster.Don't eat here unless you're a long-time fan (which I don't foresee many people becoming).A horrible first-impression of Sarasota's cuisine.

Amazing burgers and Emily at the outside bar gave us top notch service! We will be back for sure! The beer was cold and the vibe was very chill!

Heard about this place from a friend and Pizza was great, music was a plus and Tumay never kept us waiting, will be back for sure !

Some friends and I were out for a day in downtown Sarasota and happened to stumble into mttisons city grill and we were so happy with our experience! From our food to the service with our waiter Tumay, everything was five stars!

What a disappointment. We were celebrating the last night of my Bachelorette and was sat for dinner service while the band was playing. The hostess was warm and inviting and our server, Ray, was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Unfortunately, that is when the experience fell apart. We were sat around 10 pm and our drinks took over 30 minutes to be made and delivered and we received our entrees at 11:30 pm. As we had gotten our entrees, we tried ordering wine and were advised that it was past last call and could not order anything else. It should be noted that server, bartender, nor manager advised our table about last call. The staff was gathered at a table directly behind us, drinking their shift drinks and was not invested in service. A manager did not come over to the table until we asked for one. An incredibly rude and insensitive server (who was not involved and was observed to put her dirty server book ON TOP of a side salad when she couldn’t remember the next tables order) came over to the table to advise us that she was off of her shift and that the bartending staff was making drinks for the kitchen and other waitstaff. She continued to taunt us and the “manager” was dismissive of all of the issues and combative with the group when we were trying to articulate the issue. There was no compensation made and instead of continuing to eat our already ruined meals, we paid the check and left. As we were leaving, the berating waitress then threatened to come to the Gator Club and fight my group of friends. We are all in the service industry and this was not handled appropriately. We felt so badly for Ray as it was clear that he did not have support staff during a busy Saturday night. 10/10 would NOT recommend. I really thought that this upscale restaurant was going to be the great start of my evening and was really the greatest disappointment of my weekend. Ray is a true gem and this poorly run establishment does not deserve him.

We stopped into this place for a early lunch and were surprised that they had live music on Saturday along with an interesting menu with many different options. Everything was tasty and service was relatively quick. There is a farmers market in the downtown area until 1PM and this is a nice place to chill after walking around the market. Enjoy!

On our first visit to Sarasota's Main Street, we strolled around looking for a lunch spot. The day we were there, there was no wait at Mattison's City Grille and the prices seemed to be a bit more reasonable than some of the other restaurants and cafés. We split a delicious corned beef reuben and perhaps the tastiest caesar salad we've ever had. Our server, Rose, was very friendly and accommodating.

We happened to stop here on the night the block next to them was closed for a GIANT Halloween party with live bands and the place packed with costumed people. It was awesome. The place was packed with the overflow from the block party and the servers were very busy, but they still did a great job. We had the burgers and fries which were served at the proper temp and tasted great. They also have their own live music and a fun crowd. We will have to try them on a "normal" day.

While shopping in downtown Sarasota, my girlfriend Maggi and I wanted to find a place for lunch. We saw this place on the corner called Mattison's. We were able to get a great table, and on our way to the table, I saw one of the wait staff delivering a pizza. I looked up and down the menu, and all I saw was a slice of pizza. Our waitress, Alexandria, said the pizza is not on the menu; however, she was able to accommodate. We ordered the sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms with extra cheese. Crispy crust with lots of ingredients. I Love This Place

Great service. Live music. Nice casual atmosphere and food
