These chimney cakes are delicious! My favorites are almond and cheese. I haven’t tried them as a sandwich or stuffed yet, but they are amazing without any frills. I do prefer to get them at the farmers market as they are piping hot and the chimney cakes are best when they are fresh and warm. I crave these chimney cakes all the time and will continue to come here :)
We discovered Kurtos when we were looking for food to serve at our daughters wedding rehearsal reception. Walked in for lunch and never looked back. With guidance from both Kim and Aniko we had the perfect spread for 80 people at our casual, beach side hotel. It was perfect for the night before festivities. The presentation of the food was beautiful and the charcuterie board was really special. We couldn't have asked for more. We wanted something nice and memorable that was reasonably priced, and it was, it was also much more. I wholeheartedly recommend Kurtos Chimney Cake for whatever your needs are.Thanks again to Kim and Aniko!!

I didn't know what a chimney cake was before wandering in here but I'm glad I know what it is now. Grabbed my wife a glazed chimney cake and myself a bacon egg and cheese wrapped in a cheese chimney cake. Both were super yum. So if you're looking for something a bit different, mom and pop and yum this is a good place to hit up.
This is such a cool place to eat because it’s so different. The ascetic inside is very welcoming and modern. The ice cream chimney cones are very yummy and unique. If you are walking downtown Sarasota, then you have to go in here
My husband and I loved this place! While we were on vacation here in Florida, we came here multiple times! The Hungarian bread was delicious and made fresh all day long! Our favorite was the plain Hungarian bread. They make it in a spiral which makes it easy and fun to eat!If you go, I would also recommend the breakfast sandwiches they have. We got the bacon and cheese one which came with spinach as well!Service was excellent! The ladies working there are so friendly and great to talk to! I wish I could give them a higher rating!
Had Kurtos catered in for an event this week and was unique and delicious!! Would totally use them again.
Wow! What a sidewalk treasure. I had a cheese bread chimney sandwich, made fresh as I watched and a sandwich made to order. Totally enjoyed every bite of it. Mine was ham and veggies with little balsamic. I could have eaten it with just veggies and would have still been just as good. Meatlovers .. not a problem because it's all in the way they make the bread. How about desserts they have to those too! Twist your taste buds? Absolutely. I will recommend you go see for yourself.
Simply delicious! Service was great too. I ended up making my own sandwich because the only vegetarian option didn't appeal to me. The woman behind the counter told me the owner is Hungarian and so is the shop. I joked that I totally Americanized my sandwich, opting for all basic veggies and cheese. But it was great this way and the bread is what made it stand out. It's how bread should be!
What a great find in Sarasota!!! We got the breakfast panini made from the chimney just about every morning while on vacation! Just the right amount, not too big, not too little, perfect breakfast! And a good price! As a treat we took cinnamon chimney for a snack!!!! Amazing!!! Thank you for opening this shop!!!
