The experience at this establishment was not so great. The food was just ok. The palmetto location has much better tasting food. Our pizza was cut in some weird curvy square pattern. In the picture you can see every dish that came to the table was still on the table and we had just paid the bill. Not a good look for the establishment. I forgot to mention that the server rushed us to order drinks but didn’t once come back to ask us if we wanted another the whole time we were there.
This is such a great place!My family is from Chicago and the deep dish was spot on! Exactly like home. The staff is friendly and informative. We will be returning!It could be a little confusing to get to because of how the streets are set up. But it is not hard to find and it is worth it.
Glad we came across this place! And I'm glad to see they are expanding.Customer service is top notch, not once have I had a bad time there or know of anyone that has. They remember your name and treat you like family! Food is great too, and pretty reasonably priced (half pound burger and fries for $7!!). And if your lucky you might even see Mr Joey D himself (he is super nice) or Mama D (also super nice, she danced with my daughter).Definitely a jewel of Bradenton!
We are new to Joey D's and had a wonderful lunch yesterday. The Chicago hot dogs are legit! Friendly service with a sporty atmosphere.

We ended up going there on a busy Friday night when other restaurants had a half hour wait to even get seated.There was enough servers to adequately provide quick, friendly service (but not overly annoying trying to get a good tip service).Good for: Watching Sports, beer drinkers, family friendly, no wait to sit service, pizza and Italian favorites.
Very sport bar vibe. The service was excellent, food was fast and delicious. Big servings. Highly recommend the deep dish pizza.
We have eaten here a few times before and enjoyed it BUT this time the Chicago Style Pizza ended up not being very hot and was doughy. We ordered a large and a medium and both the same. The large we ordered was to have mostly meat but was disappointed as it did not seem very meaty at all, We took over half of each home as we could not eat it all and in hind-site we should have sent it back to the kitchen but hesitated to do that which was our mistake. As a result we a very hesitant to go back with other family visitors.
In October of 2021 I had a delicious hot pan pizza, which I picked up from Joey D’s. Today(2-05) the same type of pizza but not good. It was full of garlic which I did not ask for. It was room temp. The bottom was soggy. And last time I was given the choice of sliced tomato or chunks of tomato. This time the guy that took my order said only slices were available. Of course the tomatoes were not ripe. Maybe a bad night? Different manager?Short staffed? I’m very disappointed.
Love the atmosphere but pizza disappointed with pizza. To much basil very little cheese & sauce. Really surprised. Typical Chicago pizza from downtown to west /south burbs towards Naperville great sauce, lots of cheese rich flavors. 75 years testing different pizza not a fan of this one. Place a blast but need help with pizza recipe..
