When I arrived to the establishment the parking lot was filling up quickly. I arrived at 8pm I didn’t know but your party has to be seated by 8:30pm because of the closing time at 9p and I was there on a Saturday evening…..other days may vary. I had a party of ten, but thankfully they gave us until 8:35p lol because everyone was not all there. The establishment is very nice and clean. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The food is cooked right in front of you, so everything is cooked to order. The chef that was our cook was funny and nice. My family was drinking the Mai tai’s and they said they were amazing as well. I’m definitely going back to this establishment again and again soon. I would recommend this amazing place to anyone and everyone to enjoy.
Pros first the hostess greeted and seated us fast and was really nice. Second the server she was just delightful and took our order in a timely manner. Third a person came out and cleaned the grill and then the chef came out and cleaned it a second time. Fourth the chef was phenomenal he did a great little performance and threw in a couple of jokes for good measure.Cons to much food if you get a teppanyaki meal be aware that you will be taking food home. I've never felt so full.
We had a fabulous dinner at JoTo this past weekend. The hostess called a few hours before our reservation to make us aware they were short handed a chef due to a family emergency, and that service could run slower than normal. We were fine with that, and with it being a Saturday evening, knew we would end up waiting wherever we were going to eat. But- it was so thoughtful of the restaurant to call and let us know in case we didn't want to wait. We didn't have any problems with the speed of service, we would've never known they were short handed that night. We ordered a Caterpillar roll (fresh and delicious!), filet mignon and scallops. All were cooked perfectly. The steak was tender. The chef was personable. We will definitely be back! Don't let the unassuming exterior deter you from eating here!
Place is amazing!! Best quality tappenyaki food I've had anywhere in America.. and quite possibly the least costly. Big portions. Fun, friendly staff.
The food is good here. Not great or exceptional, just good. If you want a performance by your chef you're not getting that. Ours just showed up, cooked, and left. Now, as for the food. It was a little greasier than what I get other places, and was just OK.
A Sarasota staple. It's been her long as I can remember 40+ years I'd venture. It's a hibachi grill experience and I've always been very happy with my food. I usually get the grilled steak (medium rare) and shrimp combo. Last time I went one in my party exclusively got sushi. Which she found satisfactory but didn't feel it was top tier. Either way I would highly recommend this dining experience for the whole family. Not the greatest for an intimate private date as they do combine parties to fill the tables.
Made reservations for my birthday dinner. 10 of us showed up for the hibachi dinner service. Lovely time with friends and family. Food was excellent and decently priced. Our server was amazing and very attentive to everything going on.
Food is good and the staff is friendly, 3 stars cause my family of 5 being 2 adults and 3 children were forced to pay 18% gratitude. I am always a more then fare tipper but a tip is a show of how your experience is it should not be a forced event. I will not come back here cause I don't believe the way they do business is ethical
The food here is absurdly good. And you always have enough food for another full meal the next day. The staff is incredibly passionate, professional, and dedicated to their jobs. Alex was the most professional host I’ve ever experienced! 5 Stars for sure. May this gem never close!!!
In my opinion it is the best sushi I have ever tasted.The atmosphere is like an old Japanese house, the interiors are very well cared for and it has unique setting details, with excellent tranquility and silence to eat and enjoy the whole experience.The place is run by its owners and one of them is the one who prepares the sushi in a bar at the back of the room in full view of everyone.You can eat at the bar or in the living room, the experience of the bar is very interesting because you can see the sushiman working all the time, although the bar is a bit small to support the dishes.It has an internal garden as a decoration (you cannot eat there) very nice and that gives a lot of light to the living room.The food is simply incredible, the shashimi table is prepared with fresh fish of the moment, which is constantly changing and is very abundant, fresh and with a variety of fish that I had never tried before.A highly recommended experience for those who like good sushi prepared by experts
