We all enjoyed our steak subs from Gentile’s. The portions were generous, the onions and peppers were delicious, the bread was soft. No salt or pepper needed. (We all chose provolone- I’m not personally a huge fan of Cheez Whiz). My husband is always on the hunt for a decent steak sub (having grown up not far south of Philly) and these subs fit the bill!. Stop in. You won’t be disappointed. Good prices, great taste, friendly service….felt like a hidden gem. Sign at the road just says “Philadelphia Cheesesteaks.”
We get takeout, mostly cheese steak and as good as anything in my home town Philadelphia. Great place.
I was hoping for the best in the area but they were out of Provolone Cheese so I went next door to Palermo Pizza and had THE BEST Cheesesteak I've had in the area. Palermo uses fresh shaved Ribeye, Fresh Vegetables, and house made bread. I am kinda glad that Gentile's was out of cheese because I would have not discovered Polermo Pizza! Gentile's asked me if I wanted Cheese Wiz on my sub, no thanks. Go next door! I recently was looking for the best Cheesesteak in the area and I found it, but not where I expected....
Best Cheesesteaks in FLORIDAMy wife and I discovered Gentile's Authentic Philadelphia Cheesesteaks several years while visiting the area and try to get back at least twice, we live in Citrus County, FL. We make a special trip for a day trip to see the area again but really have a Cheesesteak or cullet sandwich. We have lived in FL for 27 years and come from the Philly / So Jersey. and have had many Cheesesteaks all over FL. but none I mean none like my Friends at Gentile's. They are better than most in the Philly. Can't wait to go back and have another one very soon. Regards to the Guys at Gentile's.
Such a great place. Women in the front was so kind and the guys in the back can make some great sandwiches and are really great people. Got the cheese steaks and they were sooo delicious. So worth it, loaded with meat and cheese and whatever else you would like. Wish we lived closer it would absolutely be somewhere id stop on a regular basis. But next time we are in florida we will be sure to stop. Thanks guys for your kindness and great food!!!
I had been wanting to try Gentile's for awhile and today was the day. Traffic was backed up on 41 N, it was raining, and I was starving, so I pulled off to get a Cheesesteak. And I am very glad I did. I ordered a Cheesesteak with provolone, onions, peppers (green and hot), and mushrooms. I also ordered a side of Broccoli Rabe that they had for the special sandwich today. I added the rabe to my sandwich also. It was fabulous. I love that fatty juice that soaks down into the Amarosa roll, but the roll stays intact (like a French dip). That's when you know it's going to be good. I wish I had thought about taking a picture.
I love you if I could give more stars I would very delicious!!
My cheese steak was delicious. No complaints.
Absolutely amazing and authentic place. I am from Philly, living in FL now. I was beyond pleased with the food and the people. It was a very nice taste of home, literally. ? ?
Gentile Bros. is a delicious sandwich experience-- it is not finishing school for manners or a dentist's office. It's a cheesesteak place, and a good one at that. They "sold out" because their rolls are brought in daily...want to guarantee lunch? Come early! I'm sure Mr. Lazy Boy strolled into the store at 2:15 or later Also, there is no way to properly cook cheesesteaks with gloves on! This place is always clean & COVID is practically a memory. Notice the bad reviews made no mention of the quality of the product--also, it looks like Myron enjoys writing bad reviews; he's written more bad than good. Anyhow, Gentile's is very good, always provides a consistent product and should not be judged by the few bad reviews. Just go and enjoy!
