Gecko's Grill& Pub is easy to find with free parking on the street. It's a friendly environment for a relaxing place to eat. The group of people that work there seem to enjoy their work. They also employ a robot waiter which is fun to see. If I have the opportunity I would return.Although the coleslaw is a crowd favorite; i didn't care for it. The Ruben sandwich was delicious! My friend ordered the Nacho grande. It was beautifully plated and delicious! Thank you
First time here and I really liked it. Located right near the Sarasota Memorial hospital. The service was outstanding everyone is friendly and very patient. We had the Blue cheese chips which are very popular and we loved it, it was delicious and a generous amount of chips, and we also had Garlic parmesan wings, juicy, soft and tasty. We also had drinks our favorite was the lady shark, you can't have just one it's delicious. Highly recommend.
My first trip here was awesome. The second, not so much. I planned on coming here, solo, to watch the Super Bowl. I called earlier, and was put on hold, and they hung up on me. I called back and the guy said he was sorry, but he would get someone to help me. He brought someone back who said the whole bar was sold out for the game, but that they set aside a few tables for walk-ins. I said it’s just me, when should I come in? He said to come in at 5pm, and I’d be fine getting a seat for the game. I walked over, arriving at 5pm. The manager on duty told me the entire bar was booked. I explained what had happened and that I’d called and been told to come back at 5, and he said “we had 2 tables for walk ins and they’re taken, I recommend you find somewhere else”. My first trip here was great. This? This soured me for ever coming back. Absolutely terrible customer service by the manager on duty Super Bowl Sunday at 5pm.
This is a well-known local place, and they were able to accommodate her party of six on short notice. Sports screens up across the bar showing different sports, and several groups inside enjoying their evening.Service was very very slow. Beer choices are adequate, as are the alcohol choices. We did have some food which was mediocre, nothing really that special. Chicken dinner, nachos, poke bowl. The nacho portion was huge and was okay. As were the other dishes.It's great for bar food and hanging out just be prepared to wait.
Conveniently located near SMH on Hillview. There is plenty of parking in the area. Nice booths, plenty of seating. Service is quick. Menu offers plenty of choices from salads to sandwiches and great tuna nachos. Very friendly wait staff. I enjoyed lunch here. Food was very good.
Come on! Who doesn't like Gecko's? Well, maybe if you hate the wait for seating. In which case do what we do. Call ahead to reserve your booth/table. You'll get seated much sooner. The food is always fresh and good and there are gf selections as well.
Absolutely love the place. Incredible staff, food and environment. Blueberry muffin wheat ale is to die for. southwest bowl and burritos are my favorite!!! Lots of easy ways to modify to make vegan food here too! Also I suggest trying the drink called the shark lady ? 10/10
This was a neat little place inside. We had the French dip and onion rings. The sandwich bread was soft and the meat was tender. The onion rings were good with a great dipping sauce.
Beer selection is okay, but stick to the pub food. Grouper was way over cooked and dry, Brussels sprouts sad, blackening on one grouper was seasonless. Pub food menu looked interesting, but stay away from fish and dinners.
Went with friends to watch a football game and had a ball. Fantastic nachos and killer chili! Salads were off the chart good! Great service and friendly people, Can't go wrong at this locals favorite!
