My wife and I had the mixed paella. It’s probably one of the more expensive dishes they have. It was delicious and plentiful. The 2 server dish was too much for us. Allow about 1 hour if you order the paella. Try also the sangria. All very yummy.
as a Peruvian coming from MD I was expecting better food here in FL. I came to the restaurant at noon and they did not have the pollo a la brasa ready. I waited because I really wanted to try the chicken. The question is. Is this pollo a la brasa or Pollo al horno?. no flavor on the chicken and it was dry. the ceviche was average but it did not taste fresh. On the other hand the waitress was professional, the salad and dressings were very good. Im giving a 3 star because it was a Monday afternoon so maybe the main chef was not on duty. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
Real quiet. Food is excellent. Plenty of choices if some dishes appear too adventurous. My wife and I enjoyed the meal. Wine and beer choices are limited so imbibers beware if alcohol is mega important
I have been going to Meimi’s on 17th since 2014 but this night there was an over hour wait so we went to El Patio Latino, another Peruvian restaurant in Sarasota. The food was fine, slightly above average at best. My steak was dry and the food lacked any spice but I was able to douse it with different sauces. The service wasn’t great either but it was not bad. This was just mediocre food & service which added up to a below average experience. If you enjoy Peruvian cuisine, go to Meimi’s on 17th.
We’ve always enjoyed the food at this place when we used to come here about 10 yrs ago. We wonder why we didn’t come back sooner. They have maintained the quality of their food. As you can see in my pictures, the food is fresh and plated beautifully. Everything tasted great. I would say the portions are adequate. I was quite worries at first seeing the price of the appetizers in the $14 and up range. But it was a huge portion of ceviche and causa that could have already been a meal for 2. We ended up taking home the arroz con mariscos and the lomo saltado since we were full after just the appetizers. The place is very clean, including the restroom. Our waitress was very friendly and was very good at explaining and offering suggestions. Will definitely be back sooner.
Lovely experience. Took my parents here for the first time and they were impressed. My son got the fried rice and my mom said it was the best she’s ever had. Mom got the fried fish. Dad and I split the paella mixta. We asked for a chorizo to be served with it. It was so good!!! Good Sangria too! Veronica was very sweet and helpful! Excellent place!????????
Love this family run spot. Many of the recipes are made from scratch and it shows.I ate the chicken which was extremely tender and juicy. The green (I’m guessing cilantro) garlic sauce was a great option for dipping the chicken and fries. Couldn’t recommend the chicken enough.Customer service was also great. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating as they offered to explain the menu as needed.
Amazing Peruvian food! el Pescado a lo Macho is to die for!! definetly a place to repeat .
Second time eating at this restaurant and I can say that the food is really good but unfortunately the service is awful. We had the same server we had the last time and she was not attentive at all. It seems like Ale does not enjoy her job at all or even try to make her clients happy.
It has been a good place to go, for culturally accurate Peruvian meals. They also have Spanish paella. It is not fancy, but it is quaint and functional. The best place for food that tastes good and is healthy.
