I like what they've done with the place. We've been coming here since it was a different Mexican restaurant occupying the same space. So I was glad to see the change up of atmosphere from previously. Drinks were really good and the food was mostly amazing. My son thought the smash burger was really good, and my wife said her chicken enchiladas were also good. I ordered a carne asada special and while the fire roasted corn and potatoes were amazing. My steak was underwhelming, so much so that I only had about a quarter of it. Delicious ! Great fish tacos and wow crunch veggies I selected. Yummy chips and salsa (fresh) and out of this world skillet caso dip!!! The plantains nice bit of sweet, definitely have again.
Everything was tasteless. Guacamole was not fresh and tasty. Fajita came with white rice. Very watery sour cream. was it sour cream??? Margarita came with in wine glass. Nothing special and nothing tasted Mexican.
Cool place to go with your family or friends. The music and food was great. I had a really good time thanks to the staff (Andrei). He was really kind and friendly.

Me and my friends got the best service from Andrei our waiter. He was extremely friendly and brought us our food really quick! He also recommended us the carne asada which was absolutely delicious. probably one of the best mexican restaurants in sarasota. Will definitely be coming here again and requesting for Andrei!?
We didn't have a reservation but got a table right away eventhough the restaurant looked very busy. Staff was nice and friendly and the food was great. Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been in. It's a bit pricey but if you like this type of food, you should definitely eat here.
Wonderful, fresh and authentic Mexican food. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back! The burrito with chicken was fantastic.Portions were large. I had leftovers for a second meal! Our server Denise was attentive and prompt with her service. Miriam, our hostess made sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely be back.
Salsa! Merengue! Cumbia and so much more at El Melvin! What a great restaurant and nightclub all under one roof. For dinner we enjoyed the steak and chicken nachos along with a side of congri, and extra rice and blank beans. For dessert we had the homemade churros with ice cream. The margaritas were excellent as well. If you are planning to visit Sarasota, you must visit this place. The music, the food and the ambiance is extraordinary!
