We absolutely LOVE Detwiler's! We do 98% of out food shopping there, everything is fresh, always stocked and enough people working to serve everyone and the prices beat every place else, by a lot. I'm in real estate and always direct my clients from out of the area to Detwiler's!
What an awesome place. A hidden gem I never knew about until a friend of mine told me about it. So much fresh fruits and vegetables at very reasonable prices. And they have a butcher as well as fresh fish too! I will be a very frequent visitor now that I've found this place.
I LOVE this store. They ALWAYS have amazing fruit and vegetables and always something on special. I love walking around and filling a cart when really I went in for one banana! They have the most fantastic chocolates, loose and at a comically cheap price. They're amazing, don't tell anyone! They have loads of flavours of ice cream and now sell two sizes of coffee. I heart this store the most. ❤️
Another disappointment. This time a chicken. Comparable to BJ's price, but the quality is much worse. It took hours to cook it. I have recently posted my concerns about fish and fruit, too. The owner or manager responded to it offering a gift card. I provided the address but never received it. Informed them about the issue - no response.I can see less and less reasons shopping there though used to leave there $200-300/monthly.
Best fruit and veggies around, and a very pleasant place to shop. It has the feel of a family owned store ... because it is! Excellent sandwich shop, too ... a great place for lunch! Check to see when the crowds are there, and then choose a different time.
I recently moved to Sarasota and learned about Detwiler’s from a friend. I’ve been a few times now. I like the produce variety and freshness and the meat department and breads. The ladies who work in the middle of the store on the supplements educated me about vitamins and I spent good money on a few that had me feeling better. The prices are good and the music is great. I’m a huge fan of Detwiler’s.
I usually go to the small one. Then I discovered the bigger one! YIS! More choices! I love the (what feels like) 100 jams they offer. The 100 peanut butter options. The unfamiliar produce, the deli is decent, the meats are good. Oh and the bakery! Just all of it. It's a Chick-fil-A for groceries.Warning on the produce, it goes bad fast. Great sign for clean farming but it can be inconvenient if you're an infrequent shopper
I love this store, they have such a wide variety of everything, raw milk and raw milk products (cream, yogurt, cottage cheese etc) great prices. Family owned! Worth a 30 minute drive, and other than Costco will now be my main store to shop!
Fantastic seafood and great farmers market. We love their produce selection.
Excellent selection of produce, meats, fish, and seafood. Was extremely crowded and hard to get around in the store but no shortages of meat and veg. Just took our time and enjoyed the experience.
