We have enjoyed Daruma for years....but no more. I realize restaurants are short personnel to provide good service. But I ask for a table with service from the Hibachi, which Daruma has always provide for us. But the new young, arrogant manager on a power trip was rude in his refusal. We will not be going back.
Went out for a dinner date. The food came out quickly as we went with the traditional dining to get a table for two instead of a big group setting with the hibachi. Server did well and was training another person and did good too. The fish was fresh on our roll which was great and my wife really enjoyed her drink as well. If your craving a bit higher end Japanese food then check this place out!
Michael the manager was extremely polite and professional. It's not an easy job to manage and keep a restaurant organized especially when it's dinner and a show. I'm in the service industry so I recognize these things and thought he did a wonderful job. I sat at the bar and the food and service was superb.
Food was good; service was even better, but there's a 'but'. At the end of the meal and upon receiving our check, I noticed that a 20% tip was already included. I wholeheartedly had my mind set on at least 25% 'but' didn't feel it necessary to tip an additional amount beyond what was already dictated for a party of five (two adults and three kids).
Great atmosphere. Great variety of fresh sushi. I didn't quite like the warm sake though. I'll try it again chilled. Otherwise no complaints.
6 of us for my Birthday. Very enjoyable experience. Had the Hibachi grill food cooked in front of us.
The food was amazing. We got seated later than our reservation because they were extremely busy. However they compt our drinks and some of our food. Very happy with the service
It was great!! Waitress made sure she pointed out that the 20% tip was split. 10% for her and 10% for the chef. She was a great Waitress but i didn't think she needed to point that out
Very clean and nice restaurant. Location opens at 5pm. We arrived at the time they opened. 10 min wait for 2. Sushi was good and fresh. Reasonable prices.
1. Cook provided ZERO show. When my kids asked for some entertainment- he absolutely did nothing!2. Ordered a hibachi New York strip medium rare- steak was well done. While he was still cooking food, and I expressed to him that it was over cooked, he ignored me. So I went to hostess to ask for manager to get steak cook properly. By the time everyone had their food and were done eating, I still did not have my steak. The manager came out and express their apologies and were going to remake the food (everyone at table- even separate party) was displeased with food and service. Everyone, not only ate the food on their plate- and got new food made, but 45 minutes later- I still did not have my steak!!!! They kept telling me they were cooking it. Our reservation was at 8. At 10, I still did not have my steak. Their compensation when everyone complained was 20$ off 150$ ticket with no show.Nikki the manager was not interested in hearing my complaint. I wanted fresh food with a show. Does anyone go to hibachi to NOT shave the show?? That’s why you pay the high price. By that time, my company was ready to travel back to Orlando- as she had a 3 hour drive home- so I left hungry- only having had some half of my rice and broth miso soup. Really upset about my experience and hope to talk to the owner to let him know. This place came highly recommended- but I was extremely dissatisfied with the lack of service.
