Visited 07/06/22We were told by family to check this place out after it was a family favorite for years but was not good the last time they went. Sadly, it was not good at all for my husband & I. We really wanted it to be!It smelled REALLY fishy when we first got in( we’ve always been told fish shouldn’t smell “fishy”). Our food was not good, my husband’s food was gritty, my fish was dry & our hush puppies were burnt (Yes we sent back our food). The servers were nice but we won’t be back. I hope they return back to how good they were & that this trip will just be a fluke! Will gladly delete when that happens!

Tiny inside dining area (4 tables) but more available outside. We both enjoyed our food. I ordered fried grouper bites and a small salad. Boyh were much larger portions than I anticipated! My husband had blackened grouper with fries. Everything was delicious. Wish we were staying longer to be able to return and try other items.

I was skeptical coming in this place. I was pleasantly surprised with the food. It was delicious. The fish dip was Smokey and delicious. The service was great! Highly recommend.

Big Water was recommended by our son, so we stopped one afternoon to give it a try. It was ok. Husband wasn’t happy about how the blackened amberjack was prepared, my calamari was good and the tots were very good. On our second trip, we were greeted when we entered. We seated ourselves and then watched as 3 employees stood behind the counter looking at their cellphones. After 5 minutes a lady came in complaining about a takeout order from the night before, still no one acknowledged us, so we left. When customers are present, phones should be put away. Probably won’t be back.

Pretty short walk from Tropical Beach Resorts, thought I'd stop by and check it out. I ordered the fish & chips. When the server brought me my order... just wow. .. I wish I had brought my camera and taken a photo to upload here. The fish was huge! It was also (understandably) hot so I had to cut it and eat it in sections. Was delicious, and the hush puppies were great too (the bacon and cheese kind). Highly recommended!

This restaurant was just a walk across the street from our accommodations and I wanted to eat there every day. The food is excellent and can also buy some fresh fish or prepared dips/spreads and other cooking goodies to boot!

Been coming here for years, personally met and spoke to the owner several times, I am happy he s successful....but stating on website you close at 9 and bouncing clients at 8.40 saying the kitchen closed at 8.45 is not professional nor respectful. If you are a restaurant and close at 10 you receive clients until 10. Not a big problem.....Sarasota has so many places I can bring my business to!

This is a small fish market/seafood restaurant/deli in South Siesta Key. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was good. They offer a nice selection of unusual fish which was intriguing. We decided to order take-out the next night and we were somewhat disappointed. The salads had a lot of old/brown lettuce (see picture) and the serving size was very small. The classic chowder was good but the "Jack's Fish Stew" was very brothy with little fish (see picture). We also had shrimp cocktail and that was fine. I think zi would give it another try but not order some of the same things. The green salad was definitely unacceptable. It is in a strip mall with zero ambiance so I would assume their survival depends on providing quality seafood.

Yum!! Meaty fresh shrimp!!!… though the cocktail sauce was full of fresh horseradish… aka HOT… but there’s catsup to dilute. Superb Calamari, & lots of it in the appetizer. Lobster bisque so so… my wife thought it had too much cream. And there was a strange spice that kept me from eating it further. STILL… cute eclectic place… if you want fresh, go here!!

After making several attempts for over 30 mins (starting at 7pm) to call to place a takeout order, and my calls going straight to voicemail, my friend and I drove to the restaurant to place our order. We were greeted by a hostess who said they were no longer accepting take orders for the evening and then completely ignored us. There were open tables and it was still early so I’m not sure why the lousy response. While disappointed, we found another restaurant nearby who was more than happy to take our order. While this place seems to get great reviews, I won’t be coming back.
