This was our third visit in the past several months. The first two were exceptional. This time it was avoidably disappointing. The service was excellent. The food overall was okay. The fried Brussels sprouts and sausage starter was its customary fantastic. The Crisp Calamari starter was anything but. No crisp at all - rather a serving of while very tasty, but chewy not crisp, calamari. The pan fried grouper special entree was good but not noteworthy. The Quilted Shroom pizza, after having been outstanding on our previous visit was disappointing and a bit soggy. The worst part of the experience was being told they had no coffee when my wife attempted to order a cup before our meal. Since we were celebrating my wifeâs birthday, we intended to, and did, order the flourless chocolate square dessert. Since we were told they had no coffee, which we prefer with dessert, we had to order it to take home - where we enjoyed it with our own coffee. NOTE: After leaving the foregoing review, which I've now revised slightly, the Owner / Chef of Baker & Wife reached out to me by phone. He apologized and explained the confusion our server had about availability of coffee (they did in fact have coffee). It was nice that the Owner made that effort, and I appreciate it. Given our overall experiences with Baker & Wife, and this wound salving, we'll definitely return.
Went to this restaurant a couple of months ago while visiting family and loved it! This time the experience was not great, out of several items on the menu. When we got the beet salad it was not as described on the menu- no golden beets. The hamburger was terribly undercooked, they did remove it from the bill, still very disappointing. The martini had no garnishments, said they were out of them but shortly after I got mine I noticed the table next to us had them with their drinks- very inconsistent. Not sure we will go back :-(
This was a our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the place had a great vibe. We will definitely go back.
