The fresh pompano was excellent. The goat cheese and fig appetizer was delicious.
481 Gourmet has become my Husband's and my FAVORITE restaurant in Sarasota.. The Food, the Service, and the Overall Ambience , in our opinion, is 2nd to none and what one would want/expect from a Fine Dining Establishment!
This is a fabulous restaurant. There were four of us having dinner on a Thursday night. We asked the waiter give us time to relax and catch up on events with our friends and he certainly did that! The food here is excellent. I had the red snapper which was more than ample. One person had the Cornish hen which was huge and steaming hot. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
AJ was an excellent server! Every meal we have ever had there has been delicious. Last night was the same.
Watermelon salad was incredibly good. Mussels were a bit fishy. Duck ravioli is a favorite. Short ribs good. The espresso creme brí»lée was exceptional.
Decided to try 481 after driving by that day and seeing so many good reviews. Well, they were right. The staff, from the hostess to our waiter Chance to the Chef Alex were all friendly and attentive. I put my choice's in Chance's hands, and had a caprese salad, with ripe tomatoes and mozz sitting atop a house-made pesto that was worthy of more bread to sop up after.. My wife had a special.... gnocci with lemon beurre blanc and 3 jumbo shrimp and loved it. I had a duck special served with horseradish whipped potatoes and roasted brussels sprouts, also really good. I had to try the oreo bread pudding, and it was a great finish, served warm with whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Decadent and delightful. There is a wonderful courtyard with a working fireplace which will be a must-do when the cooler nights arrive. Recommended heartily.
Ask for Barbara! Duck ravioli so good but rich. Get the strawberry basil cocktail.

Great service and great food. Noise carries in the restaurant. Made noise level high, but didn't deter our enjoyment of the evening.
