Sleeping on the corner of 30A this restaurant pays homage to a local legend. The ambiance and patio are great. Be sure to make reservations in advance. The menu is seasonal and features a good variety of options. Grouper and scallops were fantastic but the pasta did not disappoint as well

6 of us dined at Surfing Deer and has a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant is nicely furnished and gives diners space instead of being crambed in and on top of one another, Thge ambience is upscale resort. Our server was very good and knowledgeable. The back up staff was extremely attentive making sure our water glasses were always full. The starters menu is nice and we enjoyed the chacutary board and sweet bacon appetizer. Main course menue was interesting, but not huge. The main course seafood dishes and pork tenederloin were very good. Understanding that help is hard to get the wait time to get the main course was slow, but understandable as the restaurant seats allot of people and was full. Nice additon to the area,

The hostesses seemed a little, um flighty but whatever since they were ok with granting our request of not sitting in the bar w a reservation. Service was super nice but also slow. The wait for our drinks was way too long, but again nice and friendly so nbd. Menu is....meh...good stuff, interesting stuff, standard stuff and really? Our food was good but nothing special... almost a little dated in style. The ambiance is beachy-nice but its Florida food. Meaning no expectations will make for a good meal.

Oysters and drinks were amazing and they have the best fancy patio! Highly recommend for couples, I wouldn’t want to bring my little kids.

Booked our reservation over a month ago for a special evening out. Our reservation was for 2 people at 6:15pm for 2 pm on a Tuesday night requesting a special table location. We arrived on time and we’re greeted by a confused hostess staff. We were seated in the back in a dark function room.. we expressed our dissatisfaction and were told there were no other tables available. We said that’s fine we would leave and suddenly they found us another table… not impressed. The overall service to follow was fine but was nothing special. Place was under staffed and underwhelming. Looking for a special place?? This is not it.

First time diners with Surfing Deer, but we will certainly be back! The staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. The Clothesline Bacon was fun and delicious; what a delightful combo of flavors and unique presentation! The Tortilla Crusted Grouper was wonderful, and the Wild Salmon was absolutely perfectly prepared to my taste (medium rare). We also had a side of Roasted Carrots with Kahlua Cream; what an unusual and delightful pairing...Thank you so much to everyone at Surfing Deer; you are perfection!

Another place my family has frequented over the years. Our first visit was quite a memory although we have painfully been less satisfied after each subsequent meal. This time we showed up 30 minutes early for our patio reservations to enjoy a drink at the bar before dinner. The bartender was fantastic, offering suggestions and generally being very pleasant. As our reservation time approached and finally past we inquired with the hostess, who assured us a large party was paying and we were up next.20 minutes later (after sending our son to scout - there was only one large party seated and MANY available and set tables sitting empty on the patio), we asked again. They were still “paying” and because we were getting tired of watching walk-ins go straight to tables, agreed to sit inside. No apologies, nothing said.Sadly it didn’t get better. Our waiter started ok; we ordered our favorite Clothesline Bacon which comes out with a smoking rosemary twig. Phenomenal if not particularly filling. However when it came to dinner our waiter was much more involved with a larger party for most of the night. After ordering main courses, they were delivered by a runner and our waiter didn’t check in on us until it was time for the bill. The beef short ribs were in desperate need of salt and it took sometime to flag a random floor staff person to bring some.I am giving 2 stars largely because the bartender and her cocktails were so delightful. Sadly this was probably our last visit.

My Wife and I tried the Surfing Deer for the first time on April 26, 2022 for dinner. It was delightful with good service from our waiter, Derrick who helped guide us through the many different dinning options. We chose to sit indoors which was a wise decision because outside patrons brought their dogs to dinner. We started with the splitting a Cesar Salad, as recommended due to their size. My Wife had the dinner special of blackened grouper and I chose the Acadiana Seafood (picture below) for our entrees. Both were excellent. Albeit, the portion size of the blackened grouper was more frankly too small. However, the portion size of the Cajun seafood dish was enough for two, spicy with allot of flavor and full of seafood. With bread and wine our tab was $194.00 including tip. We will certainly return and suggest this restaurant to our friends.

Beautiful dining experience! We enjoyed the jalapeño cornbread, roasted carrots, the “hanging bacon” and pesto pappardelle with blackened shrimp. Lovely staff complimented our dinner as well, thank you Surfing Deer!

From valet parking to entry to apps to mains...and some well concocted drinks nearly almost perfect. Literally everything was excellent and then the 6.00 Non-Cash fee. The very first restaurant amongst 100s to charge this ridiculous fee. REALLY? FINE DINING? Absurd to say the least and it was the principle not the amount.
