We sat outside which was nice as it was cold inside the restaurant. It took along time for our food to arrive and the grandchildren were getting restless and hungry. We eat here every year and the food is usually fantastic. This time my food tasted just so so and I always order the same dish.
I order the Panne Chicken you received two small breasts. They brought me two burnt and well-done breasts and cold mashed potatoes. My husband had the manicotti and all it was open lasagna noodles and sauce mixed with cheese. This is not manicotti. It was terrible. We had the creme brulee and the sugar topping was well done burnt taste. We had two pina colada and we could not taste any alcohol in them. Very disappointed in the dinner and we were celebrating our anniversary.
Our party of 6 adults, 1 child and 1 infant were seated nearly immediately. Our 12 year old loved the funky decor. It is a very cool place with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food was phenomenal. The portions were huge and completely sharable. Our table enjoyed sharing the fried green beans, "cup" of gumbo ( huge bowl) and egg rolls as appetizers. The limited menu was no disappointment because the chicken manicotti, blackened grouper, pan seared grouper, shrimp & crawfish pasta were all equally delicious. Our meals were so delicious that we went on to dessert simply because when on vacation, calories don't count. We were so glad we did! The creme Brule was divine, the bread pudding was like heaven with homemade whipped cream and ice cream. Our server was an awesome young man who obviously loved the restaurant and taking care of his guests. He was attentive and had a fantastic personality. 10/10 recommend!
We met up with our friends (a local couple) who recommended this restaurant. They said it was their go to when they wanted fish. They were right! The grouper was excellent and the grit cake was at the next level. The service was fast, courteous, and knowledgeable. I would recommend getting there early in that this place fills up quickly, but it will be worth the wait.
Great ambiance, awesome bar staff, but sadly the restaurant did not have the wow factor I expected. The menu was fairly limited and the food came out before we could order wine.
This place was packed at 7:45 pm on a Wednesday night! Waited an hour to sit. Got to sit in the main dining room. The decor takes you away to an underground bar/speakeasy. Posters everywhere. Red velvet curtains. Red booths. Candlelight on the tables. A limited menu. Appetizer = smoked tuna dip. Ah-mazing! Had a smokey and a spicy flavor. $12. Dinner = kids, buttered pasta and chicken tenders. The girls loved the mini rolls with butter, that came with them. $8.00 each. Hubby had the shrimp and crawfish pasta, $27 . Great size portion and delicious. Ordered a side of the house salad, house dressing, $5. Tasty. Wifey had ordered the fish of the night, Salmon. Meaty and not over seasoned. $28. Our waiter was, Devon. Not too attentive. Had to go to bar to get our drinks refilled. Watched the owner mingled around and visit with customers old and new. Seemed to really like the kids. Talked to them as they were adults. We missed the opportunity to get to chat with him. Wish we could have. Great place for a couple or group date night. When we come back to Santa Rosa, this place is definitely a stop!
Such a great atmosphere and the food is absolutely fabulous! And of course The Will and Lyndsey Thompson band is amazing!!?????
Hands down the best meal we had while on vacation! The shrimp and crawfish pasta was phenomenal. Finished off the meal with the bread pudding. We couldn’t believe how incredible our experience was from start to finish. It was a really cool atmosphere. Highly recommend! You won’t regret it!
First time at Louis Louis, and we hoped it would fill the void of Red Bar since we usually stay farther East when in the area. Have to say it was just what we hoped for! We were sat quicker than quoted, and food came out quickly as well. We were familiar with the menu setup, so no surprises there! Our waiter was very friendly and brought a couple extra pieces of bread for the little ones, which was the highlight of their night. We’ll definitely be back!
Our first time! Came around 5:15 on a Wednesday during Spring Break with a party of 9- and sat by Louis Petit himself! Delicious food- and very attentive service! Decor is very similar to the Red Bar- crab cakes and grouper and grits were delicious! Will forsure come back!
