Great little spot! They make their sauce and pizza dough in house as well as their cheesecake and the other fresh baked desserts! I had the classic Italian Stromboli which was great, but the made-from-scratch cheesecake was absolutely phenomenal! I also stole one of someone else's french fries and they were crispy and delicious too! Will definitely be back
There were many food choices on the menu. The hostess and waitress were both friendly and attentive. We tried the pizza and it was delicious! Toppings were great and the crust was crispy. We bought cookies for later that were very good. This was a nice choice for a hot afternoon break from the weather.
My hubby and I ate here last weekend. Everything was amazingly delicious so we returned this weekend. The service is exceptional and the staff is so friendly. The owner even came to our table and talked to us. Ordered. Pizza to go just like I did last weekend. That pizza was so so good. This weekend I ordered another pizza to go but the crust is very different than last week. Could it be different cooks? Anyway both are good. We’ll be back for more.
Christo’s has a wide selection of food items and they all looked tasty. We had the Tarpon Springs Greek Salad and Traditional Gyro. Both were very good, but the salad portion could have been a little larger for the price ($11.99). We shared a slice of Orange Cake. The slice was huge and very tasty, but the cake was a little dry.
Excellent service. Delicious food and amazing upside-down pineapple cheesecake cake.
Waitress was wonderful and food was very good. Wait til you see the desserts, wow!! Highly recommend ?
On a Wednesday, we met family members at noon. Originally, we'd planned to go next door to the Corner Cafe but (luckily) found it closed. Wait staff at Christo's was super efficient and friendly. The food was scrumptious with generous portions. I enjoyed the eggplant stromboli, and my (95yo) mom had a Chicago beef sandwich. To go boxes provided us dinner for the night.
Being a NY’er from a Brooklyn based Italian family, I thought the food, especially and Italian dishes, were mediocre at best. I mean, it was warm, it wasn’t spoiled, but it was….. lacking in every way. My friend and I are foodies. We meet up often and try different restaurants. We had seen all of the rave reviews on Google and figured it would be worth a little drive to try this place. Guess we were wrong. I also thinks the owners, their friends and family must post a lot of reviews because this is not a 4 star or better restaurant. Trust me, I managed a few over 30 years.Hey, it wasn’t bad……it was like a high school cafeteria ….it resembled dishes from somewhere else, just didn’t taste as good. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I see people like the place. But, there’s no “wow factor”. Really….. it’s weak dinner food, served by a rude and disrespectful staff. I won’t even approach that one. The wait staff was openly rude to others. I shudder thinking that’s normal practice there. Their Italian offerings would be great Italian did in North Dakota, maybe……. but this place wouldn’t make it 2 weeks in NYC area or the Island. It’s boring and lacking in many areas. Dumping cheese and sauce all over a meal doesn’t make it Italian……it only makes it covered in bland sauce and cheap greasy mozzarella cheese. Hint, the good stuff doesn’t drip oil. My buddies meal looked slightly better, but just because a dish presented fairly well, obviously doesn’t mean it tastes well.Honestly, not worth going out of the way for. There are other options. Keep driving. Save yourself from a rude staff and a restaurant that would never make it anywhere else. Sad, I see it’s been open awhile….. would’ve expected much more
It was our first visit to Christo’s. Downtown Sanford is a neat place to visit with lots of shops, bars, and restaurants. We are certainly glad that we chose this place for lunch. They had indoor and outdoor seating available. The menu was full of a wide range of things to order. I highly recommend any Italian dish that they offer, as well as the Greek salad. If we are ever in the area again, we would not hesitate to go back.
Good variety of choices on the menu and very good sandwiches. From pizza to burgers to steak and wraps or salads, this place has what you hunger for. One of my faves is the Stromboli. Some people go just for the desserts.Outdoor dining on 1st street is quaint, service is good, prices are reasonable. Try it!! Been going here for years.
