This was one of my favorites places in downtown Sanford until today! We ordered at 8:30 pm, when day gave us our food was 8:55pm and they packed the pizzas in to go boxes. We didn’t want it to go and they didn’t even tell us about this. They didn’t allow us to eat our pizzas inside, there was really hot outside and we have a 3 month old baby with us. We asked for permission to eat outside and they told us okay but fast because they have to pick those tables up. It was 9:20 pm and they haven’t even cleaned the inside tables, we could have eaten inside without any problem. They didn’t allowed us to refill the drinks and were very rude in general. I don’t understand that behavior. Thanks for running our Father’s Day ?
We live in Jacksonville, but this is our go to stop every Orlando trip. We stopped on the way home today and it was delicious as always. My go to is the Buffalo chicken Philly and the kids love the pizza. Today at our visit one of my children knocked off half of an 18 inch pizza on the floor. I wasn't going to say anything and didn't expect anything as it was our fault, but I didn't have to.. The manager working immediately asked the kitchen to fire up a new one and came to grab the one that fell. Awesome staff and food!!
The cheese steaks are awesome!!! 12 inch cheese steaks smootherd in American cheese that's melted like gravy with grilled onions. Steak is juicy not burnt and dried out. Rolls are fresh and soft. They give you a mountain of fries with American cheese gravy!!! Service is fast and friendly.
Great pizza and prices are not bad! Clean place and nice staff!
Best pizza place I've managed to find in the Orlando area. A true-to-form NY style pizza place. Sauce is flavorful but not too sweet, prices are good and the ambiance is reminiscent of a hole in the wall pizza joint. A nice gem for downtown Sanford, and a very pleasant surprise. Will definitely be coming back!
Fantastic experience!!! I called to order pizza to treat my staff in a rush and Stephanie was awesome!!! She helped me out without hesitation, was super friendly. The pizza was terrific and SLAM gained a few new customers!!! Thanks guys! You rock!
Extremely friendly service (the owner's wife was a peach) and some top quality NY style pizza. Crispy, chewy, fresh crust, hand tossed super thin, and they have the hard to find broccoli topping!Chef's kiss!They were also very professional with our service dog, and didn't attempt to acknowledge or interact with him in any way. They seemed knowledgeable on the ADA front! The restaurant is mostly ADA accessible, and while seating is limited, they have low bench seating that you can bring a wheelchair or scooter right up to and transfer out if needed.The area around the restaurant is lovely and walkable, and there's a bakery around the corner but they foolishly close at 4:30ish.
Wow! I’m a pizza connoisseur! Every where I travel to I try the local pizza. I wasn’t meaning to eat pizza in Sanford today but we walked by and wanted a slice. The pizza was DELICIOUS. The dough was spot on! Not to thin and had the perfect crunch. The sauce was delightful and present all while I enjoy the rest of the pizza! The staff was fantastic and the place was very welcoming and clean. Go say hey and grab a slice or 2! Thanks I will be back!
SLAM rocks. We've been going there for so long now I couldn't believe I didn't drop a review.Rocking Pizza, Wings, and Cheese steak sandwiches. We were customers back when it was called Mr. Z's and it was good back then. I remember suggesting to the owner at the time to have Greek salad as an option and I was rudely surprised when he told me no because he doesn't want to compete with the local Greek restaurant ?.The new ownership/management with SLAM is clearly listening to their customers more closely as they now have a Greek salad and Greek pizza. They've kept what worked and changed it up where it was needed. All in all it's a successful slim and focused eatery making just a few REALLY yummy foods with a convenient schedule in downtown. Plus the staff are always super friendly and accomodating. Feels like a mom and pop place instead of a chain.I'd suggest the Buffalo Chicken Pizza or if you like sweating your face off hot wings asking for the DOA Sauce on your Wings.
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! I found this place on Google reviews today. My husband and I wanted to get out of the house, grab a bite to eat and then go relax on the swings at the downtown lake park. This amazing piece of heaven is in gorgeous downtown Sanford... wonderful vibe all around. There is a couple of tables to eat outside (72 today) and watch cars go by and watch locals shop. The staff has to be the collectively nicest staff I've seen in a years!! All of them were super nice and personable!! I live in DeLand, so it is about a 30 min drive via I-4 for us. We got a Philly Cheesesteak, 2 slices of pep (one to take home), chicken fingers, a fountain drink and a side of cheesy fries. My husband loved the Philly...the cheese that came as a dip for the fries was amazing. I would describe it as a yummy thick queso Blanco. The fries themselves were perfect too. The CHICKEN!!! I have ate a lot of chicken from many different states and these were the absolute best I have EVER had. The pizza was delicious too, perfectly thin w pepperoni (NY style). Even their serving trays were cool. Superb atmosphere, very open...all the extras you need are right there (ketchup, salt, parm, crushed red peppers, etc). The owner, I believe even came out and asked us how everything was. It was the perfect experience, I was so happy (and full!) when we left. This is my new "go-to" spot...the 30 min drive for me was completely worth it!!! If you are in the area or if you're a local that has somehow never been there.... then you should go right now!! Get up and go now.. are you still reading this? Just go!! ❤️ ❤️
