Compared to Sushi places we’ve been to, this does not even deserve a one star. The place is not clean, menu is not even offered to you and you are asked to scan the code to view the menu. The ingredient’s in the Sushi are not fresh and not proportional with rice. Received the wrong order and instead of being offered an apology we were offered to wait. One of the rolls we ordered we asked to add spicy krab and we were told we would be charged $0.75 to 2.00 and instead we were charged $3 twice. Then got us the wrong roll, then we had to wait to get the right one . So basically tried to charge us for his mistake. Will for sure not recommend it to anyone or go there again!

If I can leave a half star, I would leave one. The food is edible but nothing more than that. It has terrible taste, meats are overcooked and dry. I am pretty much sure that their dumplig is factory-made, and funny thing is its not well cooked as well! Shumai tastes like rubber from the hell. It looks like a married couple owns and runs restaurant. I strongly recommend them to watch some Korean and Japanese food YouTube. I sincerely hope they can learn something from them. Plus, the food is hell overpriced for what you get.

Not cheap, not great but good enough.

Loved the sushi and the service was fantastic! The lunch special is such a deal too! (2 rolls, soup, salad - $14)

Great Sushi it’s my favorite place for sushi! Very clean and they have tables outside and indoor seating

We eat there all the time and the husband and wife who own the place and who cook and prepare the food do an amazing job on the sushi and the food. The service is where they need some help, every time we’ve been it’s always new waitresses / waiters and this last time we went the service was terrible . They never came to check to see how we were we had to keep asking for everything. If the food wasn’t so good we would not go back , but the sushi is really good thru just need to find good help

Love this place. Everything is always so good. Support local. ❤️

Pretty good for an inland sushi restaurant in a small town. A bit pricey.

Great service and great food. Attentive staff and great recommendations for rolls. So far one of my favorite places for sushi in the Sanford area.

Horrible!!!!Tonight my husband & I tried “Maru Sushi & Grill” for our first (& last) time.I ordered the 7-fish, sashimi salad dinner. The waitress could not answer what kind of fishes the salad had so I asked if it would be possible for the chef not to include; shrimp, eel or snapper. My dinner came to the table with four fishes(2, thin, slices of each). A tablespoon size scoop of diced vegetables (consisting of carrots seaweed cucumbers avocados and tomatoes).I asked why there was a little food on the plate. The restaurant who is probably new. Deferred to them sushi chef who replied by letting me know they “do not substitute-only eliminate”.I explained I would have ordered something else if I have known that in advance.Since the plate was already made, the sushi chef agreed to make a one-time exception & added the 3 additional fishes-as he make it clear that we would be charged for the substitution. In effort to enjoy our date-nite-evening, I kept the fact that the fish did not look or smell right to myself. I simply pushed the food around the plate for a while. The fishy-tasting & smelling fish had a STRINGY/“gristley” consistency. Several pieces of the fish were TWO TONED IN COLOR & the edges of the fish appeared to be seared.Once my husband noticed that I was not eating we asked the waitress who the owner manager was. She referred us to the sushi chef. The same man who was both defensive and rude earlier.my husband & I I have no one to express number concerned too so we Took photos of the meal, paid our bill & quietly exited.I frequent sushi restaurants an average of once a week. This was the poorest quality sushi that I’ve ever had.We found this restaurant by Google review search. I hope that this review can save somebody else a potentially bad experience-or a terrible stomach ache!
