My girlfriend Melinda had southern bay bakery make my perfect birthday cake and it met all my decadent desires for a birthday cake.
Southern Bay was reasonably priced and the most delicious of bakeries that I tried in all of Saint Petersburg and the only one I will give a review to. Their croissants are off the charts and once you have them you too will be addicted. Great Bakery.
I ordered a cherry and an apple pie for Christmas at $18 per pie plus a tip for the baker per request at the time of placing the order. Our five guests each were given a piece of their choice. All guests immediately said the pies were not edible. They were tasteless and extremely soggy. I emailed the bakery Tuesday morning due the bakery being closed on Sunday and Monday ( no answering machine as I called several times) and no answer to calls Tuesday morning. As of this evening, Wednesday, no response from this bakery. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone. A reputable business would have reached out to me by now.
Southern Bay provided our wedding cake and it was moist, delicious and beautiful! We did tastings at a few places and Southern Bay was both the most reasonably priced and the most delicious.
Delicious almond croissant and a cute little shop. I would have gotten a pic but it was devoured before I had a chance. Everything looked wonderful! The shop is right next to The Sunken Gardens if you need a little boost before walking. Lovely service.

I got the Key Lime Bar, a buckeye, the bacon and honey Brie croissant, the German chocolate cupcake and the red velvet cupcake… when I tell you I just about cried tears of joy when I was tasting all of them !! They were so so so delicious and my personal favorites were the key lime bars and the croissant. Also, the staff (especially Angela) was SO AMAZING & made the experience even more wonderful! I would 15/10 recommend this place to anyone in St Pete, & will definitely be going back soon !
We just moved here and Southern Bay Bakery is our go to bakery now bc of how awesome they are! Even though they were absolutely swamped this week they did everything to accommodate my 8 years old dream cake. We were so pleased about all of it. Absolutely gorgeous custom cake and delicious.
