Great food and friendly atmosphere with great service
The presentation of the food was lovely, good ambiance outside and our waiter was kind/ had a good sense of humor. Unfortunately the food was not what I expected; food was bland and the shrimp avocado burritos were more like wraps. I was expecting authentic Mexican food but instead we got food that didn't have flavor. The mofongo was not real mofongo.The only food that were 4 stars were the tortilla soup and guacamole was delicious !

My wife and I have gone to this restaurant many times. She loves the salmon, which is why we return. I have found the burritos and enchiladas a bit on the dry side. Recently, we encountered the first waiter/waitress whose English was not the best. I ordered the two chicken enchiladas, and specifically requested rojo , and even said the red, rojo sauce, not verde sauce. When they arrived with verde sauce, I told the waiter I did not order, verde sauce, but rojo, and did not like verde sauce. He seemed perplexed, not sure what to do. He finally asked if he should go and get two new ones with rojo sauce. Sounded good to me, so I agreed. A coupe minutes later he returned with a small container of rojo sauce. So, I tried to scrape away the verde sauce, and put the rojo on top. The result was not very tasty. Was very disappointed. The enchiladas were also burned on the ends, and were crunchy. Someone in the kitchen not being that careful! The waiter did not return to ask how the food was!
This place was delicious! Would definitely stop in when visiting again. Our friends knew this place so we stopped in for a late dinner. We shared a bunch of empanadas which were sooo good. A little different than what you expect. The enchiladas were also good. Everyone was happy and satisfied.
THE original Mexican restaurant before the Burg was what it is now. I have been coming here over 10 years. The food is still delicious. Service has always been good for me. It gets busy and service has been slow most places, but the Red Mesa remains a regular in our rotation and it’s for a good reason: good quality and consistent product. Prices are on the high side - my only criticism.
Every time we visit we order from here because the food is delicious, service is wonderful and there is never a problem! Can’t say that for other places on this strip but this one will certainly not disappoint.Sangria is great and the salmon was one of the best I’ve ever had!

I have never had anything on the menu I did not enjoy! The Chipotle Shrimp and Cedar Roasted Salmon are hands down my favorite dishes! Absolutely love this place! One of the best in St. Pete!
This place is more congested than a chicken house! The fundido was good but I was unable to discover any poblano. The Cadillac margarita and salsa were subpar. Interesting menu
