Love coming here for fudge and caramel apples ?. They have plenty of other sweets like ice cream, chocolate covered everything, popcorn, taffy, etc. You can smell the sweetness from the sidewalk. It’s fun when you get to see them making some of the sweets. Staff is always nice and quick (there is always a line). Thanks!
Excellent service and the smell of fresh waffle cones and bowls makes your mouth water!! The line may look long but they move fast!
Amazing fudge. We walk past this shop all the time on Beach Drive, and it is always clean and buzzing with activity. It's fun to stop and peek through the windows and see what's going on. We like grabbing last-minute gifts from here as well. Food is the best gift, after all.
Great selection. Really good ice cream. Can't decide between a cone or a bowl? You don't have to decide. You can get a bowl-shaped cone for your ice cream. Genius and Innovative. They don't sell just ice cream though, they sell other tasty treats but haven't tried it yet.
We just had lunch in the downtown St. Petersburg and decided we wanted to explore the area and at the same time, look for a desert place nearby. We quickly looked up desert places in Google maps and Kilwins was one of the top indicated dessert places so we then decided to check it out and to our amazement, it was really close by..455 feet to be exact. We started to walk and saw the Museum of Fine Arts across the street and a glimpse of St. Pete's pier in the distance. We also passed a few restaurants that were initially on our list of places to try.We almost past Kilwins if not for the elephant statue in a green cap and shorts lounging on a bench in front of the dessert place. Hmm..that would be a perfect landmark as the Kilwins sign isn't that noticeable if you are walking. We entered the store and wow, it was sweets galore. ice cream of all kinds, so many choices of chocolate..truffles, caramel, confections, peanut butter cups, caramel apples, fudge..woah a lot of fudge.Luckily, we had already decided beforehand that we wanted ice cream and they had a waffle cup which was perfect so we could pick and choose a few flavors. We went with salty caramel, strawberry chunks and fudge brownie. The serving was huge that my wife decided to share the ice cream delight with me instead. We got our ice cream and quickly crossed the street to see the pier and the other surroundings. It also started to get warm so the ice cream was a welcome treat. And the ice cream was so good, creamy and perfect. The waffle cone held up well, well maybe too well and was afraid it would break if I wanted a piece. The nice thing is that the ice cream was not too sweet. My wife quickly looked for a spot for me to take a video of her eating the scrumptious ice cream.Kilwins is definitely worth checking out for a nice snack/dessert. Ice cream is just one of many choices that you can get and you mist certainly will get confused on what to get as everything looks so good and the store has a fun display and cheery atmosphere.
Ice cream is fantastic and so are the waffle cones. The hospitality of the staff leaves a little to be desired. They never smiled, never greeted us and acted like we were bothering them. Still, I'd go back for all the delicious treats.
We love this place and it does not disappoint. The ice cream cakes are amazing!
Wife and I had dinner at Tommy Bahamas next door. She opted for the car and I opted for Kilwins Line was kind of long but it moved fast. While waiting for ice cream you can look at all the candies they have. They also have the candy maker making fudge so you can view that from the front window. It was my first time there so went for something easy. I ordered a single scoop Cappuccino Cholocate Chip in a waffle cone. Tasted great, nice and creamy and the waffle cone was warmed so that made it even better. Recommend.
Because the ice creams and chocolates were so tasty during both of my precious visits, I decided to take my cousins who were visiting from NYC on the night of December 16th. I asked the very young white lady who was serving us about the cakes they advertised in the front of the shop and she stopped, stared, and said oh no, those are too expensive for us. She then said the cakes were also too big?..Ultimately, I left without cake or details of how to order for future reference since she decided they were too expensive and large for me. This young lady turned a special place into a humiliating and offensive memory. We waited on their very long line just to be demeaned and dismissed. Unfortunately, because of this encounter I will never go back. Their desserts are pretty tasty (but nothing spectacular). Their servers seriously need better training at least on how to hide their biases because she certainly lost my business moving forward. Also, that same night there was a young man either overdosing or relapsing badly on their bench. He was falling in and out of consciousness and no one intervened. It was a very strange experience at Kilwins that night, which I wish on no one.. especially those showing their family members their “cool new community”.
Kilwins is always yummy, no matter what state i eat in. Their peach ice cream is my favorite they have and also very clean real what seems like no synthetic stuff in their turtle chocolates. Convenient location too.
