We went here based on a local's recommendation for the best "NY-style" pizza in the immediate area. While the pizza was OK, it wasn't excellent, and wasn't what I was expecting. The place, without much surprise, was very busy late on Saturday night (with mid/post-bar crows). We were able to get a few slices and bring it back to our hotel to enjoy with a beer. The pizza was definitely better than chain pizza places, and generally better than just about anything I can get near where I live, but I thought fell well short of a "typical" NY pizzeria pizza; it was too doughy, a bit sweet, and not a lot of flavor. So, this got my late night pizza fix, and was better than most of what I can get locally...but my sky-high expectations weren't entirely met.

The pizza is so good here, and it’s just as good as Joe’s in Brooklyn if not better. I’ve been here several times. Everybody on the staff is awesome from Qwynn to Matt to Jay. They know me by first and last name. Love this place!
Good Food And Great Service
I've been coming here for years. I've also spent a ton of time in NYC. This place is legit. Every time I eat here it's like a sentimental and emotional journey back to NYC. The owner exudes a passion and drive unheard of in today's dumbed-down society. He's as excited and passionate about making pizza and serving customers as he was 10 years ago. I love this guy. The quality, flavor, and freshness of his pizza has never changed. No matter how busy it is or how drunk his customers are, he treats every one like a valued guest. I love this place and hope it never changes, it's definitely a landmark of DTSP.
Crazy night during St Patrick’s Day. Guy at the door was awesome! He did what was right while no one was looking. We were waiting in the pizza and bathroom lines and I was up next, these 2 pretty young girls hopped up and asked him about the restroom. He could of bypass me and let them in but he did what was right! I’m thankful! Great pizza! Good vibes!
I just started my new job a few weeks ago and have been taking a walk on my lunch hour. I walked past Joey Brooklyn's the other day and decided to give it a try. They did not disappoint!!! The staff was super friendly and the 2 slices plus a soda "lunch special" was outstanding. I will be returning soon to try more on their menu. I highly recommend Joey Brooklyn's!
Okay this place surpasses my expectations! But then again, I’m not much of a NY pizza style person so I don’t have much to compare to. However, this pizza was still amazing. So fresh and the crust is not dry or hard.They won me over as a returning customer! Highly recommend especially as a 3AM night-out food choice. Lol!
I'm very torn on my first experience. There were no menus or prices posted - I paid $10 for a slice of cheese and a slice with 4 toppings. I thought that was a bit steep and, as I did the math, I realized its $1 per topping per slice... that's pretty crazy considering there were 6 slices of pepperoni ($1), 5 chunks of pineapple ($1), a tiny bit of sliced onion ($1), and a miniscule spattering of mushrooms ($1). The cheese pizza was really good and was only $3 per slice... I wish I had only gotten cheese as the other slice was sub par. The guy who took my order said the slices were really big... they were pretty regular size for thin crust... nothing special, really. I would go back and order cheese, but that's it.
