Central Coffee Shoppe is always good! We've been coming here for years. We still call it the Marilyn Monroe place. Excellent food. They have outside seating, too so they're doggy friendly.
A really excellent, no-frills, friendly cafe, with very good food at a reasonable price. We each had a perfectly cooked omelet that had clearly been made with fresh ingredients; and it was served steaming hot. The sides of grits (creamy textured) and pancakes were made with equal care. My Dad is a local but had never been. I think he’ll be a regular. Love that you can see your food being cooked, and that its open at 6.30 am. A really great place, and very clean. I can see why it’s such a popular place for breakfast and lunch.

Great local coffee shoppe with down to earth breakfast options including omelettes, grits, sandwiches and sausage gravy & biscuits.Walked in my first visit and was greeted by four of the staff before we even were seated. Such a great start to our dining experience. Clean and quaint but not overly trendy. We went here while in town. It is a cute local breakfast place. Menu has all your favorites. I had the special and added French toast in place of my toast. It was so good. My husband had the special with the catfish and loved it. Service was friendly and attentive.

Woke up in St. Pete after a fun night, wanting a simple hot breakfast. In going through the list coming up on google, yelp, etc, and after checking menus and prices, this was exactly the kind of place I was looking for. Food was hot and came out quick, and prices were on point. I recommend the corned beef hash....probably the best I've had.
Love this place for breakfast! Great food, great service, and dog friendly. Everything is really good, and the pancakes are better than most other places.
A great little low-priced and clean diner tucked in among pricey restaurants in downtown St. Pete with great food and service. If you like old-school diners this is your place. Oh, and the coffee is top shelf too!
