I am really amazed by some of these low-rated reviews, as someone who works in the service industry there are *a lot* of people who have very unrealistic and sometimes impossible expectations. When I came in at 8pm it was quite busy- entire store was practically full and when I saw the young staff members running the store I was genuinely impressed and thought it was really really cool that the owner allows them to have the experience of problem-solving and working without direct supervision which is an extremely important skill for a person to learn (especially early on in life.) Everything seemed very handled, staff-members were very pleasant, at one point the register ran out of 1's (which I wanted so I could leave a tip!!) And it took them just a minute to figure it out. I was a store manager and I've seen employees with a lot more experience take a lot longer to handle a situation and often times they asked management to just handle it for them. I give a great kudos to Menchies and the staff they employ for what they are doing and the bigger picture beyond fro-yo. I fully support this business and plan on coming back with friends! Additional note.....the owner responding to these ridiculous reviews has the patience of a saint because the level of utter entitlement and stupidity I just read through is truly astonishing. You're getting self-serve fro-yo, what kind of services are you expecting? If you are ever in a retail store and are waiting a time you feel isn't reasonable for an employee to come out and serve you.... you can always get their attention, especially considering you have no idea what they are doing in the back. A lot of us could learn some more grace, like the kind of grace the owner shows in response! I especially love the reviews that state they have been coming here for so long and have always loved it and after a singular "sub-par" experience they are leaving a 1-star trash review yet I have yet to find their 5-star reviews after years of great service. This is saddening prevalent in our society today. Thank you Menchies- soap box rant over! (Most importantly, the fro-yo was delicious and well-priced. Highly recommend the banana pudding!)
i wanted to leave a review for a cake i ordered and was shocked at these reviews.I came both Tuesday and Wednesday and both days the place looked clean and the experience was very pleasant. The girl at the counter was absolutely adorable. So nice and helpful. I placed the cake order with another girl and she seemed so exited to make my cake, and assured me that she would make the best cake i ever saw for my sons birthday. i came the next day and it was so cute ! my son loved it !
I want to first say…we love Menchie’s always great fro-yo!!! Now my experience today (and my previous experience before) have led me to believe this place may need to do a management/staff overhaul. We came in about 4:30 today, the garbage cans were overflowing, tables,chairs and floor were filthy and there were 2 staff members at the counter FaceTiming someone on their phone. They never hung up their phone when ringing us out and actually seemed quite iterated that they had to help. Then I tried to pay with cash and they said it was easier to pay with card and proceeded to ask for a tip…which my husband gave (even tho it was not deserved). I will note that While we were sitting at the table a different staff member came on shift and started cleaning the garage cans. For 2 toddlers cups and 2 adults fro-yo was $25, that’s kind of a lot for such bad service and gross conditions. Hopefully the owner sees this and has the staff clean this place up, it has such a great reputation.
I love Menchie's but this specific location needs attention.No sample cups, the peanut butter froyo was empty, the peanut butter sauce was empty, the Hershey's Shell sauce was empty, no more cooking dough topping, the credit card reader did not work...I see a lot of 1 and 2 star reviews and the owner stating "it will be addressed"... Nothing seems to have changed. I will get my froyo elsewhere then.
This location is absolutely filthy. My shoes stuck to the floor when I walked in the door. Every surface, window, door, counter, chairs, etc. was dirty. It smelled like skunk (reminded me of someone smoking a blunt) and I wanted to get out as quickly as possible. The kids loved the yogurt but the girl at the counter was useless. She rolled her eyes when I mentioned sticking to the floor. After we paid she went to the back and we never saw her again. What happened to standards? The health inspector would shut them down. That's my next call. We will not be back. Hire people that care.
It is sad this place could have been nice. Smells like armpit, two trash cans overflowing, trashes on the tables, some flavors ran out. Hope they get better.
good place to go with family, very clean and good attention. It's definitely my new favorite ice cream place ???
If you want some good customer service or a clean store that isn’t sticky as hell and empty fruit COME IN THE MORNING!it seems as though the staff isn’t trained well and provides terrible customer service at night. They look tired and just have a terrible spirit. I mean i come in here expecting decent customer service not teenage zombies running a dirty sticky fro yo shopVersus when i have come and had fro yo at around 3 or 5 on weekends the store is nice, the staff is friendly and provide a smile and the employees know how to do their job.. constantly cleaning and there’s fruit . why is it so different? i shouldn’t have to go at a certain time to get some decent customer service and fruit. and i definitely shouldn’t have to AVOID going at night because the nasty conditions..
I came back to this Menchie’s after almost a whole year and didn’t regret, prices went up but worth it I was sitting down in the store and I was inspired empty to write a review, it was clean and smelled like fresh waffles, the service was great my kids got stickers from the nice lady and just the vibes of the store are so fun, definitely will be bringing my family back. Congrats #tampa
Looks like all good things come to an end. The place was a mess , they were out of lots of toppings and the floor looked like it had not been clean in several hours. Sad to see a good place look so dirty. for the price they charge maybe they can pay for better help!!!!
