Went here once. Found a whole living roach in my salad, so they're clearly not washing their produce. The manager only offered to comp a single beer. Will never go back... If they're not washing the lettuce, I don't want to know what else they aren't doing.
Absolutely love it!!! It was my first time visiting Punta Gorda and River City Grill made me feel so comfortable especially being so far away from home. The owner and bartender were Awesome !!! Please stop by soon....and enjoy the southern hospitality at River City Grill. OMG I fogot to mention food was yummy and music ? was point.
Extremely busy and didn't have reservations but they were very nice and seated us. Service was great and our server must have read our minds to bring beverage refills at the right moment. Food was well prepared and served with a flair. The shrimp scampi was perfect. The dish called not your mama's meatloaf was outstanding. Passed on desert but from seeing other guest's enjoy theirs told you desert was great. Looking forward to another visit.
Very good. There on St Patrick's day and it was crowded but the staff handled it very well! Good food , service and prices. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
You can trust RCG to give you a very good meal at a good value. Never been disappointed. I live in Punta Gorda and never hesitate to take visiting guests to dine here.
Tonight my hubby and I ordered the amazing Butter Fish, Tampa Cracker Ribeye, plus scallops and shrimp for starters. All washed down with a Patron' Paloma & an Italian Wedding Cake Martini. Plus, our fantastic server Jessica gave us a delicious slice of chocolate cake for our anniversary. Always great food and service!
There were 6 of us and everyone loved their food. The Portuguese calamari appetizer was delicious - and different from any calamari we’ve had before. A few in our group had butter fish and loved it. I had the Miso-Honey Glazed Salmon and it was phenomenal! The best salmon I have ever had! The glaze was perfect and the vegetables with it were delicious too. I have a wonderful happy taste in my mouth and want to have this again! Our waitress, Jessica, was excellent. She was attentive and personable but not intrusive.
Great place to eat, vibrant setting, good service and wine menu is top shelf. Worth the trip.
Great food and awesome service. Will definitely frequent more often. Highly recommend this restaurant. Only wish they had a few more popular Portuguese dishes such as Marinated Pork (Carne de Porco Álentejana), Cod Fish (Bacalhau á Lagareiro), etc.
On vacation in Punta Gorda for a week this winter, stayed nearby, and could walk to this restaurant. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had dinner there on two separate nights. Obviously we liked it the first night. We sampled several dishes, and found the following to be the best. Boom Boom Shrimp and Portuguese calamari were excellent! Madodinii chicken and sausage was ver good. The Tampa Cracker (aka seared rib eye) came out medium rare as requested but the ongoing sizzle turned into a tough well done piece of beef. 2 tough steaks for $60. Too bad. If it was handled correctly then I would have given them a 5.
