We go to Pastaio at least once every 2 weeks if not sometimes Once a week. So very familiar with the food, Love the garlic bread. EXTRA love for the salads and entry's and pizza. However, I have worked in restaurant management and consulting for years and this one night I was truly disturbed why what I saw. I kept seeing these scanty clothed young ladies going back and forth to the kitchen. First I thought, "must be the owners family or something". They were drinking at the bar. One young man in shorts working behind the bar in the kitchen area making dough or whatever...going back and forth talking with the ladies as they fluttering back and forth in and out of kitchen horsing around with the wait staff. Then the young man decided to show the Ladies his tattoo on his leg which I believe was a snake or dragon of sorts which went all the way up to his groan. Yes he pulled his shorts up that far exposing himself. Very unprofessional! So I asked our delightful waitress who were the Ladies...were they the owners "family"? to keep running and skipping into the kitchen? She said no they work here and decided to come in on their nights off. We were sitting at one of the tables for 2 next to the bar with full view of kitchen door and hallway to restrooms. It was very annoying and was spoiling my dining experience that I have come to love so much about your restaurant. Will I come back? OF COURSE. I just thought management should know and have a talk with waitstaff about appropriate manners when you visit the place you work on your day off.
Wow!! What a great experience! Kudos to Caitlin (Kate) at the bar for incredible service, the right menu suggestions and flat out doing your job! I had the Cavatelli with Sunday Sauce which was off the charts. This place is full of locals and rightfully draws a crowd! Needless to say, I witnessed an event with the couple next to me where they actually went to the store to obtain the ingredients make their appetizer because the restaurant was out of brócoli rabe! If your in the Traditions area, this restaurant should be on the top of your list! Outstanding!!
3 stars are for the salad, pizza and bread..They were good but the seafood spaghetti plate was the worse I ever had. Red sauce on it not that tasty and the two shrimp on plate were cold and tasteless ( seriously, as cold as just being taken out from refrigerator and put into plate) totally nasty...Big disappointment for an overpriced dish that tasted like tomato sauce out of a can and cold seafood...Total rip-off !!!
This restaurant and carry out offers some of the best handmade pasta and pizza available in the Tradition neighborhood. Whenever we're shopping in the area we’ll order pizza for carry out. The place is always crowded, but customers seem very happy, we are also happy with the service that we have received. Our order is ready for us, as promised. When near Tradition, pasta and pizza lovers should give this place a try. They also have outdoor seating. ?

Stopped here after a ballgame and sat at the bar. Cameron was a great bartender with an even greater personality! Pepperoni pizza was delicious. Nice restaurant inside with plenty of outdoor seating.
We've lived nearby for years. For some reason we never visited Pastaio. Our loss for sure. We truly enjoyed our dinner. The decor and ambience inside is cozy. The Roman Style Pizza was really good. The Caesar salad comes on kale. Not a fan. Our server suggested the house salad with Caesar dressing. Yum. There are good options for beer and wine. No complaints about service. The only reason I can't rate it 5 stars is one pizza came to the table very overcooked. Pastaio is a new local favorite.
Ate here not too long ago as a group of 3. The food was phenomenal. The pasta I had was great and fresh! We also ordered meatballs and the other two people I was with enjoyed their meal as well. Not giving 5 stars because we were the only guests in the restaurant and it took quite a while to get our food. Also the water they give you taste a little weird I would say.
