Found this diner by chance. Decided to try it because of the name. Loved it!!!! Staff and food was awesome! Servers were so nice, we went back and they remembered our drinks and everything! Hannah was the best!

Not like it was a year ago. Seemed overwhelmed with seated customers and call in orders and online orders. Waited awhile for breakfast. Food was decent

I dined in for later breakfast. The server was prompt and friendly. My food arrived faster than I anticipated. I was pleased with the size and quality of the omelet and bread.Though there were only about 8 people in the restaurant when I was there it was noisy. There could be some noise damping items on the walls or tables.

We stopped for breakfast and ordered the biscuit and gravy, the french toast, and eggs and biscuit. The food was cook very good, great seasoning. Even the coffee was delicious.

Wow! We were pleasantly surprised by this delightful diner with the MOST CREATIVE BREAKFAST MENU ON THE PLANET! I ordered the Banana Bread French Toast Casserole---MmmMmmMmm. Not sickly sweet like most breakfast casseroles--just right! Our son had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast--Oh my goodness, Lord have Mercy!!! Made from a huge cinnamon roll sliced and French toasted--I should have taken a picture! The menu writer must also have a sense of humor---you can order a slice of homemade sausage bread (with sausage gravy) or a quarter, half or WHOLE loaf!!! ;) Our son lives in the area and took us here--so glad he did! Service is friendly! Looking forward to returning on our next trip back to the area! I can't recommend THIS Mel's Diner highly enough! #1 CULINARY CREATIVITY AWARD

Mel's is winner, winner, chicken dinner for the most disgusting breakfast in all of Volusia. Unfortunately, most restaurants now are cutting major corners, and it's effecting the quality of the food they are serving. The breakfast sandwich of egg, sausage and cheese, anyone and there brother could make, but Mel's couldn't put it together. No flavor on the sausage, eggs were not fresh, and the sandwich was sent back. Everyone else must be too used to Chili's and Applebees, no way is this place a 5 star breakfast. Awful.

Great little place. Friendly service and good food!

Service is slow but food is good.

The service was great but the food was not. We got a steak that was medium well on one side and bloody on the other. The chicken ceasar salad has one piece of very well done chicken on a huge plate of iceberg lettuce. No other salad toppings except for a teaspoon or so of cheese.
