Fried shrimp were aweful. The breading was like the frozen shrimp from the grocery store, thick and heavy. Shrimp were very small inside heavy batter making them look medium. Hardly any shrimp flavor, just fried batter. My husband had the fried fish dinner. The fish was perfectly lightly battered. Coleslaw was fresh and light, great.
Cool view of the river and marina! Great fresh fish that is not overbearing with flavor. I had the Fish Dinner with Yellow Rice. Tasted pretty good. The service that could be a little better…
I was in the mood for a shrimp Po-boy, but this is Florida and not New Orleans. I went ahead and asked the waitress to make sure, and she suggested I order the Fish Reuben Sandwich but sub out the fish for Blackened Shrimp. Lord almighty, I came back the very next day and ordered it again and it was delish. I can't put it into words, all I can say is if you like shrimp, you need to try it for yourself. It will become your new favorite sandwich.
Had lunch with college friends who were visiting from Michigan. Loved the casual laid back “beachy” atmosphere at Boondocks. The Stuffed Portabella was yummy, the flounder sandwich very tasty, and the mahi sandwich (blackened) just great- the fish dip is normally very good, but today it was quite salty!
It is Always Fun to sit by the water and have a meal. The view here is Breathtaking. I could tell You Dusty is an Awesome Server. The thing that makes them shine is the teamwork. Trisha has a Great Crew of Servers. They are All Happy to Help You no matter who Your Server is. The Atmosphere is Very Light. Outdoor seating is available. The food is good? Service was ok..not very interactive, but the food was amazing. Had 3 appetizers...steamed oysters on the half shell...steamed muscles in garlic wine sauce...and peel and eat spicy shrimp...All cooked to perfection. I love the Rockefeller oysters but only available on weekends!
This place is literally the epitome of a Florida restaurant. It was so nice and the staff was fantastic. The service is very quick and the prices are on par with basically anything else in America these days. Highly recommend the BLT and the coconut trip. 5/5!
My wife and I had an early dinner at Boondocks in Port Orange. The drinks and food were great. The only thing better was the service. If a server passed your table, with a smile they asked how everything was and did you need anything. Best staff attitude I have seen in a long time. Cudos to the Staff and mgt. Of Boondocks Port Orange. A must go.
Such a great place with a beautiful view. I had the grilled fish that comes with coleslaw and one other side. The mashed potatoes were real and their coleslaw is fantastic.
