Generally I love Perkins. However today was terrible service ridiculous long wait for a seat when half restaurant was empty and even longer wait for food. Food was mediocre. Couldn't cut my super rare steak to even show my non existent waitress since I was only given a butter knife. I understand busy times but this was over the top poor poor experience!

I come to this restaurant every single week. Every single time I’m here I’m treated with kindness and the over the top quality service that most restaurants fail to have. These girls and guys that work here do more than anyone I’ve ever seen in the restaurant industry(I work in the restaurant industry as well). Not only is the place understaffed and items run out of stock, but these girls still manage to keep the place running!!!! These people should seriously get a raise for the s*** they have to deal with. I have no idea what the owner of the place is doing to continue to let things run the way they are, but I seriously have to give props to the ladies and gentlemen that continue to give their all to the place in order to make a living and keep the restaurant afloat. These are the people that restaurants should STRIVE to have on their team. I highly recommend you give this place a try. Not only is the service of high quality, but the food is also good! The Cajun seasoned salmon with rice and broccoli is TO DIE FOR! I will continue to come to this place every week until the day that I die. I am sincerely proud of the workers here for all that they do. I encourage you to take a second look and see just how hard these people work as they truly give their all. If I could give more than five stars I would. They deserve the praise.
?? Arrived there with the family. I can see tables are open. But had to sit and wait for about 20 minutes to get a table. There was no line outside no was there a line inside. You might have had two people waiting. They take people before me and my family. Unexcusable. Then I get seated. We place our food order. You're with some people who came in with their families have beside us after the fact. But really upsets me as they got their food before me and I was there 15 minutes before them. I didn't get my food that served to me. The bacon was burnt so crispy I couldn't even touch it it was breaking the pieces all over the floor. The charger was burnt black and I mean burnt black. I ordered white toast and got wheat toast. I ordered Sunny side up bags and they came ice cold. My fork was warmer than the egg. It was the most disgusting breakfast lunch whatever you want to call that that I've ever seen anybody serve. This was the first time I was back at Perkins in over 20 years. And I will never go back to Perkins again. If I could not take that start back up above. The service here was the worst. And yes I still left a $5 tip for the waitress. Even though I never could get a napkin. ??
Sorry to sayBut will never go back to this restaurant again. Living in port Charlotte for almost 10 years not even one’s went there but went there on 05/02/2022 and went to sit in the booth with my son. Something was smelling bad and I didn’t know what…then I realized that the table we were sitting on was smelling like rotten meat, had be a table cloth that was dirty and the table was being wiped out with it. Okay so my son said just relax you have a big nose. I settled down and tried to ignore the smell since I didn’t want to spoil my son’s hanging out experience with me. Kept waiting and waiting waiting and waiting no one showed up. Went up to see what’s going on because other people were being served and one of the waitresses spotted me and quickly went in to inform someone. By the time I got up and my son said we can go somewhere else. The guy waiter was coming towards us said oh I forgot about you, sorry about that. I didn’t say anything and we left. Obviously they didn’t need my money so I went somewhere else and was happy to ate a hardy breakfast. Will never go back again for sure but felt extremely sad that some workers can ruin a good business
The service was good and so was the food.I ordered the scrambled eggs with bacon and pancakes it , was really good.I think they may have chanaged the pancake recipe they , tasted really good.Place was clean and the outside was just painted really good looking place to eat.
Do not use gift cards or prepaid cards here. My prepaid card got charged twice for two different bills. When I walked out to my car I checked the balance for my prepaid card and noticed I had two different transactions charged. I walked back in and asked for the manager, they Saw the two different transactions from my card but didn't know how to proceed, they said the other manager will be in at night that can work on it. I called up The manager at night and told him the problem he saw a the two different transactions on the same card, he said since it was a prepaid Visa card he cannot reimburse me. I would have to dispute it with visa. I just wish they could have canceled the one transaction and gave my money back it would have made life a lot easier.
WE always enjoyed going to Perkins in Port Charlotte FL. The former manager, Tim, always walked around to see if all were happy. Now there is a new manager, and we don't think much of her. A family dog was in the dining room. NOT A SERVICE DOG but a family pet. The manager never spoke to us as we requested. She was standing there when we paid the bill but never spoke a word to us. Only certified service dogs are allowed in public food areas. We checked with the health department. We will not eat there again. Dogs do not belong in a public enclosed dining room. What people allow in their homes is their business, but it is mine when in a public eating place. The poorly run manager lost two loyal customers.
Went for an early Monday breakfast. Perfectly done eggs and big moist biscuits. Lots of coffee, I love that they leave a small personal urn. Next time, biscuits and gravy.
This is the worst Perkins. I do DoorDash and every time I come here it’s a 10 to 20 minute wait for the food. They never have enough staff and they’re always rude. Please hire more people and get some people that actually care about Customer Service and doing their job!
