Paid for grouper, got what looked and tasted like tilapia or catfish. seafood fraud??? Waitstaff (while kind and nice) took a pic of box from Thailand that said it was grouper. Never had Grouper this small tiny in my life. Species substitution and mislabeling is illegal! But no manager would talk to me and when I asked/suggested for a refund or to be comp'ed they just ignored me and waitstaff smirch and laugh. Next to her was a woman who might of been the own or manager just standing looking at me. I did not make a issue, paid my bill left. Never to go back. BUT then did some research on the place, it has many health violations since 2019. That "Met Inspection Standards" if I know of just a few of there OK violation I would never of eat there.. Yes I did get sick after eat there, but not 100% sure if was from them, I did get ice-cream at dairy queen right after. But I'm 99% sure what I got was not real grouper.

First time back in 5 years. Quickly remember why we don't eat here. Thick onions cover everything! The food is the worst in Port Charlotte. AND THAT IS A TRUE ACCOMPLISHMENT!!
I had the chicken Florence and it is was very tasty. The ambience and decor is very nice. They have Greek inspired sculptures and artwork. The customer service was friendly and fast. They kept my drink full. They have Baklava which I had not had in years.
Gyros for dinner … delicious! Becky was our server and she did a great job. We ordered extra taziki sauce (like we always do) and the sandwich came with fries or soup, etc.Very good.
My mother has frequented this restaurant for over 30 years... Its friendly staff, plentiful food and quick service are what makes this place a definite stop every time im in town...
The Olympia restaurant is not only amazing but it is one of the best local restaurants in town you feel at home welcome and important. The food is always cooked to perfection! It's consistent and delicious their soups are out of this world! Great staff and everyone is so friendly and makes you feel at home. If you do go, you have got to try the gyro it's one of the best.
My wife and I had a great experience due to Lorie our wonderful server and of course, the food. First off, I was just put on an acid reflux diet which means no vinegar, no tomatoes, no onions or garlic, no fried foods, etc. Lorie helped me find a nice Greek salad with grilled chicken. She made the salad, so she took out all the things I can't eat and added extra of what I can eat such as extra olives. She made sure I got the right/healthy salad dressing and brought fresh bread with just olive oil for me. My wife had a gyro which she really liked and could barely finish because it was so full of meat. We will definitely be back even though it is a bit out of our way.
We have visited twice. Each time we found good food, large portions, and fair prices. You won't go away hungry or broke. Very nice waitstaff. The wall behind the cash register was lined with many awards received from the local newspaper over the years. The exterior was not fancy, but the interior was roomy and very clean. We definitely plan to return!!
the chicken lemon soup is really delicious. had corned beef & cabbage for dinner & it was great.
