I used to frequent this place when it was under previous ownership and was hesitant to go back but I'm glad I did. I love the updated decor and menu, it's amazing what a little paint and polish can do. The updated menu is straightforward and made wait time minimal. I loved that they had a meatless patty option and my breakfast was tasty and well presented. Wait staff was friendly and accomidating. This will be my new go to breakfast spot.
The breakfast club formally known as Denise Kitchen. So let's start off by saying they really redid the decor in this place very nice. Nice atmosphere. Now on to this 1 star review. I ordered shrimp and grits with a side of bacon. Grits had absolutely no flavor asked for a piece of cheese and the waitress in such a rude manner said to me that's extra as if it mattered its cheese moving on to the shrimp it taste like they poured the whole salt bottle. Now my husband food was equally nasty. He had salmon bites that lacked flavor as well. The eggs taste like powder with cheese. The best thing was the toast. We. Basically spent 50.00 to still be hungry. Never again will I grace this place.
No longer Denise’s kitchen but just as good. The service was great! There are still some people from the former restaurant working there. The prices did increase. I love what they did to the decor of the place. We will definitely return.
Had the corned beef hash grits scrambled eggs with cheese and toast, grits and eggs could have been better. Grits was very very dry and hard, eggs was dry. Couldn't even mix grits with eggs, on other hand corn beef hash was great . Nice place music is very good just to loud but it was great music I loved it, keep it going!I won't let this lil experience stop me from coming, maybe next time it will be better
Looks like new owners. They charge a lot more for the same food with poor service as well. Denise’s was much better before the switch up. They charge almost triple for the same breakfast special from the previous ownership. Either they’re greedy, ignorant or both. Another pompano gem bites the dust….
Thought I would give this place a try because I prefer local places over chain restaurants. Service was good. Our waitress was nice and very attentive. She is the only reason they get one star. The food not so good. Ordered bacon medium and it came out BURNT actually BLACK around the edges so had to send that back to have it redone. Biscuit was COLD. And not room temperature cold but out of the refrigerator COLD. Food definitely not worth the overpriced breakfast food. Won’t be back.
The place got a make over looks so much better. Wife had biscuits and gravy smelled and looked good. i had Denise ham and egg plate all was good but the ham was dry after it was cooked. I guess there's a way they use to cook it that it was never dry and had a great flavor.
I’ve been coming to this place for years with my family. It’s usually a very nice and quiet place to eat and the service is exceptionally fast. Today the service was not good AT ALL. The best service we got was from the hostess! We waited almost a whole hour and not once did the server come and apologize for the wait. We had to ask the hostess if there was an issue in the kitchen to which she said yes. An hour for our food and the first thing to come out was a grilled muffin and biscuit! The last to come out was my sons pancakes! And still, our server didn’t come back. When she finally does, she brings us the check. Didn’t ask if we wanted anything else and we didn’t… but we weren’t asked. At that point we were done and wanted to leave. I asked for two boxes, the server said she will bring them and two minutes later she’s sitting down rolling silverware! No boxes! Again, I had to ask the hostess!!!! THE HOSTESS NEEDS A RAISE!
Been eating here for over 15 years and this is the worst experience ever. I don’t know if it’s new management or owners but very unorganized and unprofessional. Sat waiting for food for over an hour and customers who came in after got food first. Upon asking for my check to pay for my drinks the waitress wasn’t even able to find my check. After her searching for a couple minutes the cooks has it. She advised at that moment it would only be 5 minutes. Well 5 minutes came and went while others were still getting food who came after us. Never once did the waitress or manager come over to apologize for any inconvenience. Also in the mean time of this happening there is one girl who is greeting all customers and advising a 20-30 minute wait for food (trying to figure out how when we been waiting over an hour). Upon deciding to leave and paying for my drinks the cashier apologizes and states they have two new cooks learning recipes. Food was simple toast, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, grits and potatoes what is there to learn a recipe. And again never did anybody apologize for the inconvenience or for the long wait time except for the cashier when leaving.
