My wife , son and I traveled to Florida just to get away from Philly. During our travels we love to venture to the local soul food restaurants in the town that we are in….. we’ll let us tell you, this restaurant is at the very top of our list!!!We were greeted by GREAT southern hospitality by the daughter of the owner who waited on us. She treated us like family coming to the breakfast table. The FOOD!!!??? OMG….. DEEEEEEEEELICIOUS!!!! I thought the ladies in the kitchen were my grandmom and great grandmother. My wife had The chicken and waffles and she said that it was the best ever. I had the Liver and onions on grits…. MY MY MY….. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. We went back to R& K the very next morning.Our only regret is that we didn’t get the name of our newest family member / waitress / hostess or the cooks.If it wasn’t so TRUST we wouldn’t say!!! R&KIs a MUST try if you are in the Fort Lauderdale area.

My sister and I drove all the way from West Delray to get some Soul Food from here for the 1st TIME and I'm not happy. I ordered a side of rice with Mac n cheese, 2 fried chicken drum sticks & 3 slices of cornbread. I didn't get my cornbread. Idk what kind of chicken this is but it doesn't look cooked. ???♀️ I need a refund frfr
Ok, we found this place on Google while visiting from out of town. When I called to confirm that they were open, "Mrs. Ruth" answered the phone and immediately she sounded like "Grandma". You could tell through the phone that this Lady was the truth. Sure enough, our group of 6 got there and the rest is history. The food is BONKERS. Like beyond delicious. I mean so good that we went back the next morning for breakfast since it's sold all day. Lord that fried chicken and waffles.... insane. Everything we had was slammin'. Oxtail, meatloaf, turkey wings, yams, etc. You must try this place. Whenever you go, tell Mrs. Ruth that her "Texas girls " sent you.
