I ate at Aces recently and was very disappointed in the quality of food and service. The older woman that is always at the front door is definitely not an asset to this restaurant. She definitely is not customer service oriented. Once we placed our order we waited about an hour to get our food. If we had known it would take this long we would not have stayed. Trust me the food was not worth the wait. The potato salad had way to much mayonnaise in it. Not edible. I ordered the two meat plate of BBQ ribs and brisket. The brisket was tender but the wood they used to cook both the ribs and brisket had a bitter taste and was long lasting after the meal. The ribs had an odd taste and looked freezer burned. I would not eat the ribs or the potato salad. The older woman - yes her again took my plate away. It should have been obvious there was an issue with my meal with all the food left on the plate. Nobody asked if we wanted refills for our tea, how are meal was or if we needed anything else. What a waste of money and our time. We will not return nor would I EVER recommend this place to anyone.
I took two of my favorite people out to lunch on Saturday, and we enjoy finding out-of-the-way places to try. We found Smokin Aces. My idea of the perfect vacation would be to center it around visiting various barbecue joints, but since we live in the Tampa Bay area, we don’t have to anymore. Their St. Louis ribs are so tender, fall off the bone delicious, that we didn’t even think about using sauce. One of us had tried the Angus beef brisket sandwich, and she enjoyed it immensely. We also had french fries, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. These were also delicious. I think their lemonade might be made from scratch and was just the right combination of tart and sweet. We will be back!
Whether you like your seasoned sirloin well done or medium rare like I do, it melts in your mouth! The Kings Wings are amazing, the best!
Ok I am not a bbq expert but I do know what good food taste likes. OMG the bbq was amazing. We tried the pulled pork, pubs, brisket and sausage links. All were so good and so darn cheap. A 4 meat player was only $23 and craft pints $4.5 Worth a visit Service from Michelle was good to
Smoking aces has the best food! If you're looking for family-owned non-franchised barbecue this restaurant is perfect. We have been many times and have loved the food every time. The restaurant is clean and cozy making you feel right at home. It is conveniently located right off the interstate so if you're traveling through Plant City it's a great place to stop and eat.
Popular hole-in-the-wall local BBQ joint that we found by chance when staying in the area. Excellent brisket, and I'm comparing it to what I got in Lockhart, Texas. Generous portion sizes, and tasty sides. Had to wait a bit for a table, but they were just recovering from a large private party. Our server (Scarlett) did an excellent job, and even offered a suggestion for a beach to visit in the Tampa area...she was right on target there! Positive experience overall.
I had smokin aces come out and cater my wedding the food was amazing and the team at smokin aces made it so easy for me to relax knowing they had everything under control, they served all 160 guests like it was nothing. Amazing service would recommend over and over and over!!!
We had a group of nearly 80 people at Smokin' Aces! The owner and staff were terrific! And yes, we had a reservation. :) But the food and service was great! The staff was so accommodating. Plenty of food to go around!
On our way back to Polk County from a 2 hour trip, we stumbled upon Smokin' Aces. Loved the atmosphere. Cute little restaurant, friendly staff, and the music takes you back. The owner came out and spoke to each table individually. Genuine, down to earth gentlemen. We will definitely return. The food was out of this world. We've had a lot of bar b que and this place tops them all. Rib plate and brisket plate is what we had and let me tell you, The Best!! Also had some Fried Green Tomatoes. Took us back to the good 'ol days..... Can't wait till our next visit. Don't pass it up!!
We’re from the UK, a party of 9 and wanted to try somewhere different than the usual chains. We did not book but I came across this BBQ/steakhouse through trip adviser for somewhere to go after a day at Busch Gardens and we were accommodated straight away. It’s the kind of place you may not notice as you pass by, but oh it is worth a visit. It has something for everyone, and we did not have any food left at all! Pictures are of the Royal Flush sandwich! I had sirloin steak and it was the best steak I have had for a long time! Others in the party had burgers which were equally as amazing! The homemade BBQ sauces were beautiful, we will definitely be back when we visit again.
